Help me reduce my make up collection

over halfway in my 30s and need to reduce my make up collection. It’s ridiculous.
I hardly wear any these days, mostly mascara, a bit of eyeliner, concealer and brow powder for work,
that’s my all. When I do go out, it’s a tinted moisturiser with some bronzer and blush. I don’t really wear eyeshadow anymore but if I do, it’s light shades.

what is the best approach here as I don’t want to feel like I have nothing then panic buy it all back lol!

Anything open 6 months bin it. You need to be ruthless.
The only things I have:

  1. CT foundation (beautiful skin)
2.CT beauty wand.
  1. Estee Lauder mascara (doesn't smudge).
  2. Under eye concealer (bye bye under eye).
  3. CTPillowtalk eye shadow palette, lipstick and liner.
  4. Benefit eye brow pencil
  5. CT setting spray
That's it!

Go through what you have and put anything that you haven't worn in the past 3 months into a box or drawer. Be honest and be ruthless. Then, 3 months later, if you haven't used any of the stuff you put away, get rid. There are Maybelline recycling bins for make up in lots of supermarkets and branches of Superdrug. And obviously don't buy any more for now, apart from replacing products when they run out

It's very common to find that you only use 20% of your make up collection (or wardrobe) 80% of the time

Agree I have to be ruthless.

i will have a good purge later, store it somewhere for a month and toss to the recycling make up bin in my local Tesco. Feel sick at doing it though lol

Agree with making sure your expired stuff has gone. I suggest you have a SS makeup bag and then a AW makeup bag. Pop the products that you use most in the different seasons in the appropriate bag and then get rid of the rest.

That’s a really good idea @BritpopbabyI’ve been wanting to sort my make up and doing Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter makes such good sense, so thank you.

I found having teenage daughters helped reduce my collection greatly without me having to do a thing. Not sure I’d recommend it though, was like locusts descending!
