I regularly get my hair dyed at a salon: it's dark brown shoulder length hair, going grey, tending towards frizzy / curly and fine.
I ask for an all over rich chocolate brown that will cover greys and not look too dark or dull.
The result has recently been more brassy than I would like - especially in the changing spring sunlight.
I know I can't expect miracles and it's not possible to lighten hair with an allover colour
But is there something different I should be asking for?
Is it just not possible to cover greys on dark brown hair without an element of brassiness?
Should I just be using a toner after colouring to tackle it?
Thinking of just using a box dye in future and saving on the salon price tag.
Thanks in advance for any tips!
