Il Makiage - any one tried?

blcakgaragedoor · 11/04/2025 07:56

I wondered if anyone has tried the il makiage colour match? Was it worth it?
id love a good match on my foundation and I’ve not been able to get it even using the counter staff.

this is all over my feed. Wondered if it’s worth a try?

I did- the match was perfect, I was really pleased.

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 11/04/2025 08:07

I use it all the time now. I love it.

Easypeasymacncheesy · 11/04/2025 08:09

Yeah use it and am happy.

I have also just shelled out for their wrinkle cover for my 11’s and it’s amazing! pricey but the little pot will last ages.

Yep I tried it and loved it, I’ve now had it on subscription for the last few years - it’s the only one I would use now! Glad to see some other positive comments about it on here… the last time it was mentioned on a thread it was absolutely slated lol

It didn't work for me. Very cakey and didn't sit right at all

I agree - i guess it all depends on your skin but it didn't go on well for me at all and wasn't the coverage that I was hoping, very cakey and you could essentially still see every flaw underneath - and it also made my eyes sting !!

Ciaroscuro · 11/04/2025 08:51

Right colour but too heavy for my skin now in my 50s.

blcakgaragedoor · 11/04/2025 09:16

Ahh thank you all.

Yes brilliant, genuinely couldn’t how good a match it was!!

Sydnei · 11/04/2025 09:32

I did! I used to use the foundation, but the shade was too light for my skintone, and I felt like the foundation was good but it didn’t feel that comfortable on my skin, probably because I have oily/combination skin.

you can try it and see how it goes!

lavenderlou · 11/04/2025 09:34

I had it. The colour was great but the texture was horrendous. So dry and cakey. I only used it once. At least it taught me a lesson about not buying things from Facebook ads.

colourfulrabbit · 11/04/2025 09:36

I tried it a few years ago and it wasn’t great - it went on really cakey and you could see every flaw. The colour match they offer wasn’t good either but I am very pale so I do have difficulty finding a good match anyway.

TurquoiseTortoiseToastyToes · 11/04/2025 09:40

The colour match was perfect for me, and if I’ve prepped my skin/waited long enough after applying moisturiser it goes on ok.

Otherwise as pp have said it can be cakey, and it does tend to sit in lines (they’re trying to flog me the wrinkle filler now, but surely that will just shift as you move your face during the day and still accentuate lines?). I also don’t like the smell and it can make my eyes sore.

I save it for evenings out now but wouldn’t buy it again.

OFHelp · 11/04/2025 09:42

I also found this very cakey and drying and it emphasised every flaw. I've just ordered the Erborian cc cream which has come highly recommended so I'm excited to try that however I believe the coverage is only light so it may not be what you're looking for.

KittytheHare · 11/04/2025 09:44

As others have said, the colour match was good but the foundation itself had a horrible drying texture and not at all flattering on me.

Sunshineandgrapefruit · 11/04/2025 14:31

I think they have different types of foundation so match to what you need. I have mature dry skin and find it great. My il Makiage foundation is the one for mature dry skin though!

Three lots sent as they got the colour wrong each time and it oxidised and was cakey.

In fairness they only charged me for one and sent a free replacement for the last two.

Char1882 · 03/05/2025 03:31

You might want to change the AI to the current date and not something that hasn't occurred yet. I'm seeing posts for November 2025. This makes me not want to purchase your products. It seems sketchy.

Are you American? 11/04/25 is 11th April 2025 in the UK

Same.
Very cakey and the colour has come out orange on my skin.
Will see how easy the refund is though, it only arrived yesterday.
I had specified that I like a natural/lightweight coverage

Anonymouse2019 · 03/05/2025 06:14

I use it and really like it. The coverage is very good.

arlequin · 03/05/2025 06:16

@Char1882its 4th April!

SuperSange · 03/05/2025 07:20

Like others, the colour match was perfect but the texture too heavy now I’m older.

lunar1 · 03/05/2025 07:42

The colour match was perfect, but it doesn’t sit right on my shin, even with their primer.

I use that white one now that changes to match your skin, can’t remember the name, will look when I’m home, it blends perfectly.
