I'm now retired and can finally dress to please myself after many years of smart, professional outfits and sensible, Mumsy weekend clothes.

I've been slowly building up a wardrobe of clothes that reflect my true preferences, which chime with what I wore as a teenager (late 60s, early 70s), which was a mix of hippy, Biba, boho, vintage Edwardian & Art Deco.

I spend a lot of time on Vinted, searching through clothes by Monsoon & East. I've also used the search terms Steampunk and Goth as they've thrown up some interesting jackets.

Are there any labels I'm missing? What else could I search for?

Please feel free to share any treasures from your own wardrobe for inspiration!

Thank you! Off to have a look now.

When I was a student in London, I used to go to a big indoor market/emporium place in south Kensington but I've never been to Camden Market.

I spent a lot of my teen years (early 70s) in Chelsea Girl, Miss Selfridge and C&A (Clockhouse label)
Have you got Laura Ashley?
Droopy and Browns
I also remember Vivien Smith, Snob, Bus Stop.
Phool (might be more 90s)

I used to get all my clothes at Ken market or Chez opposite.

Worth looking at Global Mandala too for hippy dress type things

Kensington Market? I bought a vintage lace dress and tartan coat that my mum hated there.

I also love Vinted, Etsy and charity and secondhand shops are great too. I would take some time to build up lots of pieces you love.

TOAST for some of it, more so the Edwardian stuff. It is expensive though.

Thank you so much you quirky MNetters - what a treasure trove you're unearthing for me. I'll be glued to my laptop all night now!

@quirkychick and @Phunkychicken
Yes Kensington market was a favourite haunt. I bought a maxi, wrap around skirt in an Indian print cotton that lasted for years (ended up as a cushion I think!). My overwhelming memory of the place is that it was rickety and higgledy-piggledy and had a strong smell from all the Afghan coats - remember those?
