Spring/summer tops help please

I need some help finding some new tops for spring/summer please. I'm looking for things that are a bit 'more' than a t-shirt, but not going out tops. I want to feel put together and stylish but not overly dressed up, nor scruffy/boring. I'm thinking of tops that are suitable for online work meetings, going for casual drinks/lunch/dinner. I'll be wearing with jeans and casual wide leg trousers.

I'm short (5ft2) and a bit fat (size 12 in generous sizing shops, size 14 in others). I'm in my late 40s. Ignoring the fact I'm overweight, I'm petite framed if that makes sense, i.e. narrow back (but with boobs) and narrow-ish shoulders. Long sleeves in non-petite clothing are typically too long for me.

Style wise - if I was tall and slim, and money was no object, I'd probably choose to wear Reiss, Whistles, White Company, Mint Velvet type clothing and not Fat Face, White Stuff, Per Una etc. I don't want to feel mumsy or frumpy. I wouldn't wear anything tight fitting across my stomach.

I tend to wear navy, black, neutrals and some bright blues and greens. I don't tend to wear red or purple.

I could spend up to £200 -£250 but I'd be looking to get 4-5 tops (hence my comment above about if money was no object - I realise I wouldn't get much in those shops for that money).

Usually I buy from the usual high street suspects, but would be interested in discovering other brands as I feel stuck in a rut!

Thank you!

I have these tops I'm wearing currently at a similar size to you & 5 ft 3 with broad shoulders.
The two on the left are M&S, the two on the right are Wrap London via Tk Maxx.
Some Per Una is ok this year!

Oh thank you - I will take a look at all these. I love that first M&S one!

I’m a similar size/build but fatter and I’ve found some nice tops in Next - they’re called heavyweight t-shirts but they’re more boxy and with thicker material and longer sleeves than a ‘normal’ t-shirt. I don’t suit anything too flouncy so they work well for me as they skim the lumps and bumps and look more modern.
