DS wants to look bulkier

DS (13) likes clothes that make him look a bit bulkier. Obviously I assure him he has no need to dress any kind of way but this is what he likes wearing.

He’s fine in winter because he’s wearing layers anyway, but what lighter layers might work?

He has some Superdry hoodies that are very thick material which he loves, these ones:

He’s also had his eye those denim or cord jackets that have a Sherpa lining. Any ideas for warmer weather clothes?

Or any recs for t’shirts or long sleeve tops made from thicker than usual fabric?

My son is 15 and is well over 6 foot and very skinny but has fine big shoulders.. he wears a lot of horizontal thick stripes to emphasise his shoulders and I tend to go for cargo pants and wider jeans when shopping with him, I feel it balances him out. Trick is not to go too flappy as he’d get lost in them.

Wide stripes sound a good option thank you, have you seen any recently? DS is tall and slim too and oversized looks ridiculous on him, that’s why he likes the Superdry hoodies that are thick and fairly fitted.

We often go to the men’s department in M&S tkmaxx, next and H&M. I think he dresses well. He also loves a flowery shirt over t shirts and left open. I get him decent quality stuff as he unlikely to grow much more (he’s 6’3) and I think men’s clothes are thicker material and better cut than teenager stuff.

Our latest trick is getting short cargo pants and rolling them up slightly - on him they look like beach ready 3/4 lengths and also give his thighs some bulk. Otherwise it’s quite hard to get shirts that don’t look indecent although H&M tends to have some. Looks great with deck shoes. And a jumper over the shoulders.
