SPF 50 or higher specifically for face - what do you use?🌞

I usually use Nuxe factor 50 sun protection lotion daily but it is playing havoc with my eyes. They are streaming badly within a few minutes of putting it on. uk.nuxe.com/products/melting-sun-cream-very-high-protection-spf50

I have to put it fairly near my eye area as I have some sun spots on the tops of my cheeks and I think this is what is causing the reaction, but I never put it on my eyelids. Also get the same with Ambre Solaire.

Can anyone whose eyes stream and run at the drop of a hat recommend a good face SPF that doesn't trigger them?

Which Ultra Violette are people using?

I get an itchy, sandpapery dermatitis rash from all sunscreens on my face, so any recommendations are very welcome.

Edited

I use the UV Supreme Screen every day - good under makeup, no pilling.

I use Ultra Violette - am a die hard fan.

So do I. It’s great. I also really like Super Gloop.

Thanks for starting this thread op. I too have the streaming eyes problem even some mineral only screens can set me off too.
I'm also currently sporting a rash on my forehead that's itchy and looks like contact dermatitis after trying a few different sun screens this week. I'm trying (and failing!) to get a good one sorted before the weather gets warmer!

Please come back and let us know if you find one! I get that rash too.

Will do! 🙂

Clinique City Block SPF50.

I rub that stuff all over, even on my eyelids every day of my life and have zero issues. Even with my sensitive eyes. Just throw it in like any moisturiser in 30 seconds and I'm done. It's ever so slightly tinted so I rarely need make up on top. Smells divine, lasts all day and washes off at night beautifully.

It took me years of wasting money and streaming teary eyes to finally find this absolute life changer!!

This sounds good @GLC789 I used to use city block spf25 mineral screen years ago then they discontinued it! 😬 Please can I ask what do you use to wash it off with and is it difficult to remove?

kdramaqueen · 04/04/2025 07:11

I use Skin 1004 now - no shine and feels like a moisturiser on its own or under make up. No pilling. I've tried all the brands mentioned in pp except Ultra Violette which is spendy!

Has anyone tried the Inkey List Dewy Skin one? I think it might only be F30 though.

Hemlocked · 04/04/2025 07:31

La Roche Posay. It doesn't have a strong scent like many others and the texture is lovely. I tried a Nivea one and it stank and felt very intense for my skin, so I went back. More expensive but worth it.

Have you had any eye stinging with this one? The reviews seem too good to be true on the link you posted!

Altruist is good although I’ve only tried the spf 30 so far. Would definitely buy again.

I have the 50 of this and it's fab, no irritation at all. Very reasonable as well. I like that this is all they make.

A second vote for this! I find it goes on really well too. https://www.loreal-paris.co.uk/revitalift/clinical/vitamin-c-anti-uv-fluid

I third this, can actually put it on my eyelids, I have had a BCC removed from my eyelid so worth remembering to keep them protected also.

It's amazing honestly!

I use a balm in the shower for my wash off every night. Whether I've got full face or just skin care. My favourite balm is bodyshop camomile (I know they went bust but they are still online so I stocked up). But there are loads of options about.

Followed by clinique clarifying toner then my night cream.

kdramaqueen · 04/04/2025 08:02

@Gollldddstar I have sensitive eyes, so careful not to go all the way to the eyelash line and have had no reactions whatsoever. Korean skincare is fantastic.

Same here - this is the only one that doesn't affect my eyes

kdramaqueen · 04/04/2025 08:06

Back to add that you can buy Skin 1004 at Superdrug.

Skin 1004 - they have several versions, I especially like the probio-cica

The tinted Garnier vitamin c one doesn’t hurt my eyes. I bought the Beauty of Joeson rice one but that really stings

Eucerin 100spf.

Been using it for a while as I need to be ultra careful after fairly extensive facial surgery for BCC.

Eucerin is good

I use this one I have fairly sensitive skin and it doesn’t bother my skin and seems quite effective.
