Saw on another thread that the floral dress and trainers is out...so what's in? For casual, everyday comfy style?

Oh fgs. Is this a joke?

TheChosenTwo · 02/04/2025 18:52

I’m wearing really oversized baggy jeans (that are now way too big because of MJ but they’re my favourite and I can sit down in them at work comfortably!) and a red and white stripey sweatshirt from Oliver Bonas.
Although I’m not stylish, my work colleagues call me where’s Wally when I wear this combo 😂

LovelySG · 02/04/2025 19:13

I also want some ideas and inspiration. I’ve been feeling a bit frumpy recently and am thinking about having a wardrobe clear-out and buying some new bits for spring and summer ahead.

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie, not a joke...just looking for some inspo. I've lost some weight and need to buy new clothes

Have you read the other thread, which has basically turned into a load of really offensive ageism? If you really want helpful comments, you might do better starting a different thread without referencing the other thread.

For what it’s worth, I’ll be mostly wearing jeans with cotton broderie tops, plain dresses with sandals or trainers, or printed dresses with sandals or trainers.

aluvss · 03/04/2025 09:23

wide leg trousers or wide leg jeans, with a boxy t-shirt or top. Or a fitted t-shirt with midriff showing.

Where are you getting your broderie tops from? I fancy some new ones. Thanks. 😊

If you want to know what the everyday trends are the best thing to do is go to your local town/city and just look at what people are wearing!
That way you will know what is current in your area....and decide if its your thing or not.

Round my way its all black leggings and hoodies which I choose to completely ignore because its just not abit of me!

weareallcats · 03/04/2025 10:45

It depends on your own personal style, surely? I live in midi length skirts and dresses, as that’s what I like. I sometimes also wear dungarees.

The most stylish people tend to be those who wear what suits them and pay little/no attention to what someone or other has decided is fashionable.

Cantonet · 03/04/2025 11:12

I'm wearing barrel/straight leg jeans with embroidered cotton tops from Wrap/Poetry/Zara. Or cotton midi skirts with vest top/linen shirt. Also linen/cotton shirt dresses with bronze flipflops or pale pink Adidas.

None of mine are new, but Zara sometimes have nice ones. My favourites are an old Oliver Bonas one and a really ancient charity shop Fatface one.

Beyondburnout · 03/04/2025 16:30

White dress floral trainers 👌

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/04/2025 16:30

I’m also sporting bias cut skirts (handmade) with boxy T-shirts from Cos.

violincelloviola · 03/04/2025 18:22

If you like the dress and trainers look, my observation from recent people watching is that it’s still in, it’s just that the dresses are no longer floral print and the trainers are any colour but white. Also the dresses tend to be maxi length now rather than midi.

It’s only the white trainers/floral dress/denim jacket combo which looks a bit dated now as it’s very identifiable from a particular time period, (not that this matters in the grand scheme of things obviously - people can wear what they want!)
