Can anyone recommend a Dupe for Elemis collagen cleansing balm?
Or just a decent affordable cleansing balm, cream, hot cloth fannel fazshizzle?

Thanks 🧖‍♀️

I saw the Superdrug one on this morning but haven't tried it

I've not found a balm that rinses off as well as the Elemis one yet. Simple cleansing oil is good (and cheap!) but is unscented and rinses off although I follow up with a warm flannel. QVC usually has Elemis on offer which can help.

thank you xx

I was gifted a pot of this and loved it so much I now subscribe.

£33.99 every three months is very cost effective.

I tried quite a few dupes and in my opinion the cheap balms aren't that good. I was using the inky list oat cleanser for a while but it really irritated my skin. I just ask for the elemis balm for christmas now.

The Sali Hughes Revolution cleansing balm was very good, I go back to it whenever funds are low. Smells great too - I hate unscented things (yes I know that’s not everyone’s thing)

Superfacialist vitamin c oil goes on well, emulsifies with water and comes off brilliantly with a hot flannel. I use it after a micellar cleanse. It’s currently on sale just about everywhere, boots have it for £8

For many years, I have used organic rose hip oil, with a drop of castor oil, then hot flannels to remove. Incredibly cheap and my skin loves it. You can then moisturise with a drop of the rose hip oil afterwards too.

I'm curious about this. Which ones do you use?

Also, op, I think there's never a dupe for a great product. I've tried elemis and love it, but I'm stuck on eve lom!

blisstwins · 02/04/2025 07:53

I am pretty sure Elemis is not cruelty free.

Itsautumn · 02/04/2025 07:57

The ELF cleansing balm is very good. Rinses off well and doesn’t sting. I second the vitamin C cleansing oil by Superfacialist too.

I use Kanzy organic cold pressed oils (on Amazon). A bottle lasts about a year, much longer for the castor oil!

I love Lacura Rose cleansing balm, by Aldi! Last time I managed to buy some it was around £7. However, I’ve not seen it in my local store for ages. I like their rose facial oil too.

Calypsocuckoo · 02/04/2025 09:22

I don’t think anything quite matches up to the Elemis one, but the Beauty crop avocado cleansing balm dissolves makeup and rinses off well, and Clinique take the day off does as well.
I also like the superfacialist oil but I use that for double cleansing or for in the mornings as not as good at removing eye makeup.

TheOnlyMrsW · 02/04/2025 09:26

Second the Aldi Lacura rose balm, I also use their dupe of the Elemis Marine moisture essence but you have to be quick when they're in store as they only come around a couple of times a year............

TumbledTussocks · 02/04/2025 09:32

Dr Organic ageless with seaweed cleansing balm is on offer on Ocado atm.

i have both and prefer this product massively.

TumbledTussocks · 02/04/2025 09:33

I disliked the Aldi dupes - didn’t even use them up.

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 02/04/2025 09:36

I have no idea whether it's a dupe as such, but I switch between the Elemis cleansing balm and the Pixi Glo cleanser (which is a chemical exfoliating balm) and find both very effective for brightening.

OvaHere · 02/04/2025 10:44

I like the Banila Co Clean it Zero cleansing balms. They're not very cheap but cheaper than Elemis. TKMaxx have some at the moment for 12.99 which is roughly half the usual price.

I love the Elemis balm so much, yes it's expensive but it lasts an age and it's such a lovely daily treat.

The Sali Hughes one mentioned above is really good and excellent value. Beauty Pie's Plantastic Apricot Butter balm is also amazing.

Hoggyhoghog · 02/04/2025 11:42

Aldi does a rose one similar only on specials though so not all the time.
