Help me style this top please

I bought this top this weekend, and I absolutely love it! But I'm wondering what on earth I wear it with? I'm not keen on how they've styled it on the website, the proportions with the jeans look all wrong. Can any wise MNers give me any pointers? Thanks!

I think a more fitted jean would suit it better. Something like these maybe?

It’s the fabric - it will suck the life out of anything normal like cotton or denim. (Don’t know why, it’s just what eyes and instinct are telling me.) It’s calling out for shorts in either suede or leather. You’d have to experiment with lengths.

I’d be tempted to go all Edwardian lady - long full skirt. Think picnics on the lawn of a grand house.

But that wouldn’t be very trendy I don’t think.
