I don't think this top is working with the skirt. I'd like long sleeves - open to other colours. Budget up to £50. Thank you.

I see the long sleeves brief - Boden has lots of simple long-sleeved double layer tops that are quite fitted:

Do you think these would be glam enough for a wedding guest?

Great skirt. I like the general idea of that outfit, though the blouse looks a bit thin.

What sort of look are you after, @Weddingoutfit2025- your username may answer that! I wear a lot of skirts and tend to contrast a flouncy, embellished lower half with a plain, casual looking top. Or the other way around. If both halves are ‘look at me’ the outfit feels a little ungainly.

The only thing is, that sort of skirt needs something expensive looking to carry it off … A tiny cashmere t shirt:

& Daughter The grey would be more obvious, of course.

Or … A short fluffy cardigan. Or a shrunken suede jacket, very plain and unobtrusive. Maybe American Vintage or Massimo Dutti. Essentially a top in an unexpected and ‘not the same mood’ fabric. But you’d have to look for similar pre-owned to stay within budget.

DisneyHag · 31/03/2025 10:06

Sorry, you did say long sleeved and the cashmere is short sleeved. So the same idea with sleeves! As a wedding guest you’d want some lovely jewellery to make it dressy - a necklace or … a vintage brooch.

Thank you for suggestions. Yes it's to an autumn wedding. I'm not keen on my arms hence the sleeves. I also want something that is easy to wear and won't ride up. Perhaps even a body suit. I've just lost a stone so happy to have a fitted sleek look. I'm wanting classy but understated. I'll also probably wear a gold halo crown thing and gold heels.

I know this isn't really answering your question OP, but I love the outfit in the photo. It's a great look, and I think would make a lovely wedding outfit.

I think the blouse is lovely with the skirt. But looks like maybe the waistband on the skirt could be taken in a bit to give a sharper look

Thank you. At least I have something to fall back on.

Thanks - I agree the waistband looks best snug.
