They are all over my social media at the moment, has anybody tried them? Do they work? Or am I just a gullible twit?

The latter
Don't do it
They're dangerous

imtoooldforthisshite · 30/03/2025 16:51

😂😂 Fair enough

Ones that you consume? Don't do it

Ones that you add to your moisturiser are brilliant though

Just don’t forget wash your hands after you’ve moisturised with tanning drops in ! This is what you get 😂

I’m embarrassed to say the drops / capsules that you swallow? Think it’s already been established…gullible 😂

Apparently they naturally boost Melanin?

Just came one here to ask the same.
Beta carotene supplements apparently.

Back21970 · 31/03/2025 00:51

I just bought them on a wim last week - I recall similar ones from the early 80’s that turned your skin slightly orange, so hoping the technology has improved.

I really doubt they are dangerous, waste of money maybe.

Not opened them yet as have holidays in June so was planning on waiting till nearer the time - they are also meant to increase your likelihood to tan in the sun (apparently!).

Probably be a waste of £30 but been a bit down lately and needed some cheer up, non food related, purchases.

Supermom24 · 23/04/2025 20:50

@Back21970 which ones did you order?

Pleasesaynothing · 23/04/2025 20:54

Not to actually tan but would love something that would help me not to burn in random patches no matter how careful I am with the factor 30 and covering up and staying out of mid day sun. So following with interest.

Might be worth looking at these... https://amzn.eu/d/8n6kpi0

I struggle with the sun (prickly heat and PMLE) and have heard good reviews about them via FB groups.

Back21970 · 23/04/2025 21:10

Only been using them for a few weeks - no change in skin tone as yet and no adverse side effects, thankfully.

Not had much sun lately but was out today for a walk bare armed so hoping to start seeing a difference.

Im very fair skinned and wear SPF 50 daily on my face and neck so won’t be expecting miracles but if it took the white cast off my body I’d be delighted.

I’ll report back!

I read about this recently (the edible ones) and apparently one down side is that they turn the whites of your eyes a bit orange. That put me off ...

That would definitely be an unwelcome side effect - I’ll be watching out for that!

Back21970 · 07/09/2025 18:22

Update is that they did nothing at all - no change in colour and not much protection either as I actually got a bit sunburnt on my first day of holiday.

Waste of money, for me anyway unfortunately ☹️
