Suitable for a wedding?

Hi all,
friends daughter getting married end of April at a spa hotel.
I’m on a weight loss journey, 57, and money is tight at the moment, so don’t want to spend too much on an outfit.
I love this dress, it suits me but is it dressy/smart enough for a wedding?
Last wedding I went to was almost 25 years ago, so I just don’t know🤷🏼‍♀️
Any thoughts welcome
Thanks

Meant to add it’s a smart casual dress code…whatever that means😀

Well it's a smart casual dress, it looks really nice, but will it be warm enough? I'm sitting here in three jumpers with an electric blanket on, summer dresses seem far away!

I’m not sure to be honest. I really love the dress and it’d suit an outdoorsy casual wedding perfectly… but a spa hotel sounds quite swanky and there’ll be people dressed up to the nines. I think you might feel a bit dressed down when you get there.

Just seen your other post - I don’t think it’s quite smart enough. Tempted to get it for my holiday though, where’s it from?

I think it’ll be fine, with some heeled shoes or sandals and jewellery .
It’s a friend’s daughter’s wedding, so OP isn’t in the bridal party or close family .
Very nice dress that can be worn throughout the summer, assuming we have one !

Kattuccino · 28/03/2025 16:53

Yes it will be lovely! It's a gorgeous dress. Enjoy the wedding

Outofthepan · 28/03/2025 16:58

I think it might be if you wear it with heels and glam hair/makeup, nice little handbag. Maybe a belt?

Ayeayeaye25 · 28/03/2025 17:04

I haven’t been to a wedding for years either but if you accessorise it as above poster says or similar I am sure it will be fine.

Thanks…appreciate the comments👍🏻
Think I’ll probably will wear it as I do love it, just needed someone else to tell me it would be ok😀

Yes personally I would rather buy and wear something I loved and feel comfortable in than blow the budget on something I am unsure about, is uncomfortable and will never wear again.

QueefQueen80s · 28/03/2025 17:13

You can dress most things up with accessories, wear it!

Viviennemary · 28/03/2025 17:14

I think it''s a very nice dress. Suitable for a fairly informal wedding. But could be dressed up with a hat if you want to.

MrsCastle · 28/03/2025 17:16

I don’t think it’s smart enough for an indoor wedding but if the brief is smart casual fine

Echomama · 28/03/2025 17:18

Throw on some heels and a nice hair do and I'd say it's 100% acceptable if it's not a black tie event imo....

Binman · 28/03/2025 17:19

I have a similar style dress from fat face with long sleeves, it hangs beautiful and I always feel good in it and get compliments. Mind if it was a wedding and I didn't want to spend I would have gone for the spot tea dress beside that one and that's only £18.
