Swimsuit pulled up between cheeks.....

BotDranning · 27/03/2025 18:01

Currently on holiday. And I'm thrown by the fact that majority of women have their swimsuits wedged between there bum cheeks. So I've known my DD do it on hols but shes 18 so it feels a bit differeny. But it just feels a bit meh here ..... we are not in a resort, hotel is very small (no music round the pool etc), in the mountains. Is this a new thing I should embrace tomorrow?

Not just the women! I do it myself - all the time.

At Mar-a-Largo, on Air Force One, even in the Oval Office. That pen twiddling ain't for nothin'. It's cause I pulled them boxers WAY UP too high!!! 😳

And meanwhile men wear their modest swimming shorts.

Not in France!

TheOGCCL · 27/03/2025 20:48

I blame Kim Kardashian for bringing the booty back. In the 90s it was does my bum look (too)big in this? Now it’s can you definitely see my bum?

ExtraDecluttering · 27/03/2025 20:54

When one of my DC was in swimming club this started to be an issue, there was one particular brand of racer back swimsuit favoured by some of the girls which was very skimpy indeed and it wasn’t fair on the boys (and coaches) on the poolside who didn’t know where to look when the girls were bent over on the diving blocks. The boys in particular could have had a very embarrassing reaction given that they were all wearing tight racing trunks with nowhere to hide.

Not thongs - normal bikini pants pulled up.
That's what I don't get. I feel a bitch saying it but it just doesn't look good. Lots of cellulite and hrt patches on show. And before I get slated I have both - cupious amounts of the cellulite. So I just can't imagine it. Plus it looks uncomfortable.

Tbh i find a normal swimsuit bottom makes cellulite worse as it pushes down on the fat whereas a thong style (or wedging them a bit) reduces the amount of pressing on the fat.

tillyandmilly · 27/03/2025 21:03

Can’t bear them look horrible - same with women going topless put them away!! No one wants to see them! What’s so wrong with wearing a bikini bra anyway?

If these came in GG+ bra fittings, I'd be so happy. www.simplyswim.com/collections/womens-legsuits-swimwear

I'm a G and I wear one like these. Not underwired if that's what you meant? But with the boob shelf style thingy in it.

It's fine. Maybe a bit lower cut on me than the model - but not 'low cut' at all. They're high enough in the armpit and neckline and they've got enough stretch that everything fits in.

For me it depends on the occasion.
If I’m on a family holiday, in the pool with kids, playing on the beach etc? Absolutely not. I want all my bits and pieces safe and secure 😂 I like a high-waisted, boy-shorts style for those occasions.

But when me and DH spent a long weekend in the balaerics, no kids and in an adults only resort, I wore a teeny weeny bikini that was a very small step away from being a g-string. But that break was spent doing nothing more than laying on a sunbed, with my wine glass being continuous filled 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 same as everybody else in the resort. I’ll also happily go topless on a beach in Europe same as the locals if my DCs aren’t with me.

Why would you worry about the DC seeing you topless? Surely they have grown up seeing your boobs about the house?

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 27/03/2025 21:24

I think it's the cut, the back is almost the same cut as the front,so it all rides up.

Is it the Brazilian style of pant?

I don't really care. It's only like wearing a thong. Not my thing but each to their own.

I wear sporty swimsuits I can swim in. But I'm middle aged.

Depends on their age. I think most teens would self combust if mum was topless on a beach 😂

So the ones I've seen today aren't like this. I could just about understand this. Most the ones I've seen the material is creased an 'scrunched' between the buttocks. It looks so uncomfortable.

Unfortunately I've left my pearls at home so I can't clutch them.....

Isn’t it just people trying to recreate that look?

LlynTegid · 27/03/2025 21:43

I go to a sauna and it is probably about a third of the women there who wear bikini bottoms or one piece swimwear like that. Age varies.

Men in speedo/budgy smuggler swimwear instead of swim shorts is rare in contrast.

Yeah of course, but they know that generally it’s not appropriate for me to have my boobs out in public in the U.K. (and definitely not now we are in the US 🫠😂 I’ve even had US friends be super offended when I’ve not got a bra on and a hint of nip shoes through a tshirt) so they’d probably be weirded out if I suddenly did it in Spain or France.

BurntOrangeAutumn · 27/03/2025 21:49

Are you 100 percent sure it's deliberate & it's not just riding up & they're unaware?

slothandloaf · 28/03/2025 04:28

I find it a bit grotesque and baboon like! And unnecessary round the pool. Even if you have a fabulous body it just seems excessive. Think am just sick of the obsession for giant inflated behinds & gym goers parading their bums around everywhere in sprayed on leggings right into the crack - it’s grim. But then I am a bitter old troll!!

Yeah I live in a tourist bathing hotspot popular with all nationalities and last summer it seemed like two thirds of the women (all ages) basically had bare bottoms! I found it quite weird, as did all my (female) friends and none of us fancied it ourselves... However, I felt exactly the same way about skinny jeans/leggings worn as trousers when they first showed up, and then eventually found myself owning some, so who knows...

I wish men would cover their torsos at the pool. As for beaches? If men can sunbathe topless, women should be allowed to too.

At 34H, I tend to need bra-sized everything otherwise I fall out.

my Nan used to like telling everyone about how my Dad burned his bum when he decided to wear fashionable skimpy shorts in his youth. So not always!

I was UK born but brought up in France due to Dad’s job. Mum (now deceased) regularly used to go topless with sister and l on the beach when we were in our teens and younger. It was never a big deal and certainly didn’t scar us for life.

It’s misogynistic male oppression and double standards, if men can choose to go topless on the beach so should women.

Bikini bras are uncomfortable especially when wet and the world would be a better place if we could be relaxed about the breast. The site of a nipple will not turn anyone to stone.
