Extra Wide Mens Shoes

My dad has some issues which means his feet are hugely swollen. Not looking for medical advice as he is being treated but it's likely to remain that way for some time and maybe permanently.

We've found places that offer wide fitting shoes up to H width but they are just not wide enough so he has to start cutting them to get them on which isn't ideal.

Does anyone have any ideas on either somewhere that does ridiculously wide fit shoes/trainers or how to adapt extra wide ones to fit?

Yes, https://www.widefitshoes.co.uk is good for this. They go way beyond normal H width fitting. They’ve got a guide measurer thing on their website and in my experience it is pretty accurate. We tried it for my son who has v v wide feet and the size it said to order was correct. He didn’t get on with the shoes because they’re mostly quite “older man” and he’s 14. But ideal for non 14 year olds!

For high street, Skechers extra wide might work? Skechers and fitville are the two places we can reliably get h+ fitting. But I reckon try the websites above first.

The good thing about this pair is that they open very wide to allow you to get the foot in but Velcro strap means you can attach securely to the foot.
