If you use Dove gradual tanner or similar, how long do you have to let it dry off for before putting on clothes ?
I usually use fake tan but was thinking of changing over to a gradual tanner.

I apply it before I go to bed and tend to wear loose jammies which I'll put on right after applying.

I apply fake tan late in the evening but was wondering about application in the morning after my shower of a gradual tan body lotion before putting on my clothes. How long for it to sink in and dry ?

I use the Dove gradual tan lotion and apply it every other day just about and always in the morning. I apply it whilst wearing pants and a black vest top (not bothered about putting it on my tummy) then do everything else – makeup, hair, packed lunch – whilst letting it dry. I guess I leave it about 20-30 minutes before getting dressed but I’m sure you don’t need to leave it that long.

I use this it’s brilliant although tend to do a couple of days then just top up once or twice a week. I apply after a shower (also in black undies) and then do everything else or put on a short dressing gown and have breakfast. 10/15 minutes minimum IMO or you risk it streaking (don’t be tempted to put flip-flops on as it will rub off and leave you with very odd patterns!)

Ah I dont apply it if I cant shower as I still think it reeks of biscuits!

Has anyone found a gradual tanner that doesn’t smell awful? I got suckered into buying the Gatineau one (£64 - thought it must have cracked the smell issue) but no it also stank. Would love to find one that smells ok after it’s developed.

From experience yes I would let dry first, mainly because of it being a lotion I don't find it to dry as well as a fake tan mousse, where I would get dressed straight away. I don't therefore think that fraual tan is any easier than a fake tan mousse.
If you were to use it my main advice would be to use with caution - I found it to be quite orange on my skin tone (v.pale red head!) and it made my hands v.orange and so apply with a mitt if you can or just wash your hands well after application.

oh my £64 for Gatineau 😮 @JMAngel1
What tanning mousse dries so quickly that you can get dressed straight away @MommyRainbow ?
That sounds great.

@deeahgwitch the tan is called Filter, it's the Molly Mae tan. I use the Medium and is a really nice colour and quite dark for a medium imo, but I would put it on before work and it would develop over the day but look nice as soon as soon as it was applied and doesn't have that tan smell some of the others do. It lasts a really long time but the only downside is that it can be a bit of effort to scrub off, but I've repurchased many times. I think there was an offer for a bundle going around on tiktok a while ago so may be worth a look there ☺️

Thank you for replying @MommyRainbow- can you really get dressed very quickly and it doesn’t stain your clothes?

@deeahgwitchon the inside maybe a bit, and on bra straps, but nothing that would concern me enough to not do it ☺️ although having said that I'm not a big wearer of white! But yep I'd get out the shower, put the tan on and get dressed 👍🏼

You could use a rapid tan and wash off after an hour. It’s the dha that smells but you can get dha free fake tans but they are not expensive and take longer to build up
