Shoes without heel for formal event

I'm off to a party next month and I've just found out we can't wear heeled shoes due to the floor.

I'm wearing a black cocktail dress.

What shoes do I pair it with? I love a heel. Would a wedge work?

Esska are good for fancy low heels/flats.

Is it stilleto heels you can't wear? Or any heels?

Ohhhh, thanks. No stilletos.

We have to go to events on yachts occasionally and heels aren't allowed. Wedges are fine and I have a couple of dressy pairs for those events.

@Namechangefordaughterevasionwhere have you got your dressy wedges from please?

Sadly they are old so not much use to you. Unless you get lucky on Vinted.

One nude patent pair from Hobbs, one black suede open toed from M&S

Do you have a picture of the dress so that we can see what might work? If it’s just stilettos that you can’t wear, could you go for a pair of block heeled strappy shoes?
