Face Yoga - recommendations.

I keep finding myself drawn to face yoga and anti-ageing facial exercises, but I feel like I’m getting nowhere with it. There are so many people on Instagram selling courses, and, ironically, I always seem to click when there’s a “90% off – today only!” sale. Recently, I caved and bought one teacher’s course, which promised that I’d never need to buy another one again. Naturally, I spent nearly £100… and it turned out to be really basic stuff, things you can find on YouTube for free. A lot of it was about posture, which wasn’t what I was after.

I also got the Eva Fraser Facial Workout—first the DVD (or was it a download?), then her book. The book was actually more useful, but the exercises seemed to take forever—like an hour a day, which I just don’t have.

So, I’m asking: Has anyone here had great results with face yoga? I’m looking for a course or routine that:
• Actually works to improve muscle tone, structure, and fine lines.
• Can be done in 15 minutes max per day.
• Isn’t just a repackaging of free YouTube content.

Would love to hear real experiences—what’s been effective, what’s a waste of time, and if anyone’s actually seen a noticeable difference.

Thanks!

Yes

Pilates with Lisa

I’ve been doing it for maybe two years, and 50 no jowls and still quite perky face. Yes wrinkles but no bothered by that - great place to start.

I bought the Eva Fraser book and learned all the exercises, but I got bored of trying to follow the routines (and agree it takes too long). I made up my own version that I do each morning while I'm walking the dogs (it's a very remote route so no-one sees me contorting my face). I think it does help, and I notice the difference if I stop doing it for a week or two.

My view is that all the courses and detailed exercises are nonsense, because those peddling them obviously need to make it seem more complicated than it is, in order to sell something. Just cycle through a few exercises that work all the muscles for ten minutes each day—job done.

I’d be worried that exercises involving pursing your lips will result in a cat’s bum/ barcode mouth! Lisa doesn’t have that, but older women with less elastic skin surely risk it. Plus, excessive gurning exercises can’t help either.

One of my yoga teachers did a course with Danielle Collins, and she showed us her before and afters. She's very youthful looking anyway in her middle age, but you could definitely see improvement. The key (as with everything ) is consistency (which I've not been able to keep up).

Danielle Collins is The Face Yoga Expert on Instagram.

I do it and have had great results. I use the faceyogi app. It is paid for about 4.89 a month or something like that but I've been very please with the outcome.

@Picklepower@emmastone
Thanks so much for both your suggestions!

I tried Danielle Collins quite early on, but I found her pace really slow, and it took ages to get into it. Maybe she’s changed her approach since then, but at the time, I just couldn’t get invested in it.

I keep meaning to share my experience because I’ve tried quite a few different people and probably have some useful insights! I keep telling myself I’ll sit down and rate them all properly when I get a moment.

Funnily enough, I actually bought Sadie Nardini’s face yoga course a little while ago… and haven’t even tried it yet! So maybe I should just get on with that and see how it goes.

At the moment, I’ve been doing Anastasia Beauty Fascia’s 10-minute facial in the mornings. I bought her course because she said it only takes 20 minutes a day, and I thought, “Great, I can manage that.” But in reality, it turned into more like 45-50 minutes! A bit like those “quick” phone calls that somehow last an hour and a half.

Anyway, I’ll try to do a proper review of everyone I’ve tried at some point, it might be helpful for others!
