I love it but not sure what to wear it with...my skin is quite dark too (South Asian) and just don't feel this colour complements it. But any recs welcome!

Oh, it’s beautiful!!!!
I would wear it with all black, or all white. It would work with a pink dress…

I’d just wear it with my usual winter/cold weather clothes, which are often dark colours. Today I’m wearing boots, cropped pinstripe trousers in brown and black, and a black cashmere jumper. I’d put that on with my black oversized parka. It’s lovely.

If you don’t feel you’ll ever want to wear it, I would probably just frame it and find the place in your house where it can be seen at its best. (As it looks too delicate to use as a throw.)

buzzheath · 18/03/2025 12:23

Thanks everyone! I agree it would look good with a monochrome outfit or just one colour i.e. black or white to make the colours pop. Framing it is such an interesting idea - may try this if I don't end up wearing it!

Yes
I was just about to type the same thing

If it ends up in the back of the wardrobe for years and want to get rid of it, I’ll happily buy it off you! 😊

Exactly what I thought, it’s stunning.

KnickerFolder · 18/03/2025 13:07

It will work with any of the colours in the scarf. Black or white would be okay but I think the contrast with black won’t look as nice or as sophisticated as a colour. Do any of the embroidery colours suit you?

I agree! I do have a purple/burgundy jumper it could look nice with? Maybe I'll have to buy more colours to go with this haha

Gorgeous! Do you suit yellow? A warm mid tone yellow could look great with that, also a muted raspberry pink. I wouldn’t pair it with black, I think it needs more nuance than that to really shine.

Lifestooshort71 · 18/03/2025 13:35

Or pick out 2 of the colours and wear them in a jumper or trousers (or one in a gilet/waistcoat). Just with black might deaden the beautiful colours. Be a bit mixy-matchy

I could wear yellow, yes! I don't have anything yellow though. By "warm mid-tone yellow" do you mean a pale-ish kind of yellow? Like the yellow of butter?

If it’s silk or wool make sure it’s stored in an airtight bag to keep moths at bay, pick out one or 2 plain colours to wear with it

beetr00 · 18/03/2025 13:40

@buzzheath E V E R Y T H I N G, it is gorgeous

LadyOfTheCanyon · 18/03/2025 13:45

@buzzheath Yes exactly that, a buttery colour but nothing as acid as lemon yellow or as strong as canary

South Asian too and of a mid skin tone but I think this colour looks amazing on us. Really brightens the face. I would pick one of the embroidery colours and wear it with an outfit in that colour or monochrome as others have suggested if colour feels a little brave. It's really beautiful, be a shame to waste it
