Blending??

Have been enjoying watching videos about foundation and bronzer applications. People talk a lot about blending , but how is this not the same as rubbing the product off ? Thanks

I think blending is different to rubbing in because of the skill involved in terms of making sure the coverage is even, making sure that you have the placement of the product correct, for example blusher, and achieving the finish you want, for example natural.
