Any thick/coarse haired people around? What hair gel do you use?

My absolute favourite hair gel, Harry's sculpting gel, has been discontinued. I am devastated! It's the only one I've found that has worked for my very thick, wavy/curly hair. I apply it when my hair is soaking, give it a scrunch, it sets a cast which I scrunch out when dry and that leaves me with half decent hair for about 2 days. Can anyone recommend a good replacement? I need something really strong hold if I have a hope of forming a cast. Thank you for your help!

I use Only Curls products, and like them.

Just giving this one more hopeful bump in case there are some curly girls around today!

I don't use gel, I use Milk_Shake Whipped Cream Leave-In Foam, it calms my hair and smells divine.

I love TIGI Bed Head Curls Rock Amplifier. Feels like a cream but gives great hold and definition

Eco gel (the green one)

I'm super thick and super coarse (hair not personality) and was using creme of nature Snot which is discontinued I think. I need a rock solid cast and a lot of product otherwise I resemble a hedge.

Currently using aforementioned boots pink curl cream with cantu custard layered on top. Or occasionally cantu curl activator with cantu custard on top. The boots one is on the drying side so I use after a heavy conditioner. The cantu activator is quite moisturising so I use after a protein conditioner.

None of those products alone give enough cast but layering the curl cream/ activator under the custard seems to do the trick.

This is amazing, thank you so much everyone! I really appreciate it. @LongOutBreath I know exactly what you mean. the pink Boots curl creme I know and absolutely love, but on it's own it doesn't touch the sides of my mop. I have to put that on and then a gel (or similar) on top. Curls really are a law of their own. Anyway thank you again everyone 🩷

I have been using L’Oreal Studio Line Invisi Hold for many years to style my hair exactly as you describe. I have tried other products, some much more expensive, but none hold the curl quite like a strong gel.
