Mismatching feet and ballet pumps - help!

I got a pair of Flip Flop ballet pumps off Vinted, for a city break where I'll be walking a lot but want to look reasonably smart (I normally schlep around in hi tops). I like them and they go with everything else I want to wear.

The only thing is, I've got one foot that's slightly bigger than the other so one shoe fits fine and the other one is too big and keeps slipping off.

I've tried insoles but they make both shoes too tight. Normally if I'm wearing DMs I just put an extra sock over the smaller foot but that'll look weird with these shoes.

Any tips? I've lost almost a third of my bodyweight over the last 4 years, and the feet size mismatch seems to have become more evident as the weight shifted.

I might be misreading but couldn't you just put an insole in one shoe as opposed to both?

It's in the OP that insoles make both of shoes too small. I tried both and then just one shoe.

I've tried looking for thinner, cheaper insoles in the Pound Shop and local supermarket but couldn't fit anything.

Stuff the end with cotton wool?

You used to be able to buy adhesive heel grips to deal with this problem. Worth looking to see if they still exist?

Have you tried a half insole? I find they work better than heel grips, as they push the foot up and back to fill the space.

Heel grips can push the foot down the shoe, so sometimes actually make it looser (but could be worth a try if the half insole doesn't work)

Heel grip definitely

Thanks - I hadn't heard of the heel grips so have ordered some of them and will keep an eye out for the half insoles.

It's a very weird weight loss side effect, maybe my right foot was fatter than my left one. 😅

You started the thread a while ago.. but I have one foot bigger than the other (a whole size) I tend to wear sandles with adjustable straps at the ankle, rather than ballet pumps of similar as the latter almost always rub my feet. I hope you found a solution!
