Lashes

Tell me all about lashes please!

I went out to a posh event last night for the first time in about a decade and all the women had huge long lashes. Not thick butterfly lashes that you often see on teenage girls but long, natural looking lashes which were definitely something more than mascara.

I’m guessing the lash game has changed and I’ve not kept up? What are the options nowadays, and what’s the upkeep?

Thanks 😊

I've been using glow for it lash serum forbth blast week or so as I've heard people have had great results growing their natural lashes with it. Too early to say if there's been any improvement.

I have a few friends who get lash extensions and they look quite natural so that's an option however I prefer just using strip lashes for special occasions or nights out. I've used strip lashes for years and find that the 3/4 length ones give the most natural look.

Are strip lashes the ones that are just glued on? Do they stay on all day? I haven’t used them for years but remember one sliding off during a night out which I thought was hilarious at the time but must have looked awful!

If they looked good and natural, they are either using lash serums and probably a lash lift (that does wonders with a tint alone), or all of the above and some well placed lash extensions.

I switched to Tatti Lashes about a year ago after ditching mascara and then having lash extensions with a beautician… however the upkeep and cost with a beautician was just too much so I took the plunge with Tatti lashes and haven’t looked back!

I didn’t have great experience with strips years ago, but the individual clusters with Tatti are sooooo easy to apply (even for me and I’m not very delicate-handed!) I find a full set lasts me about a week and depending on the style I go for; look very natural and save me so much time when getting ready!

I get a lash lift + tint every 2 months - such a gamechanger!

Yeah strip lashes just glue on. The only time I've had an issue with them coming loose is when they've been too big and gone right into the tear duct. Never had an issue with the 3/4 ones. You can also get magnetic ones but I've never tried these.

Every six weeks here! Love lash and brow day. 😂

I get lash extensions for big events. They look completely natural but make the most incredible difference. It's expensive and time consuming and I can't be bothered to do it all the time, though.

If you're in London and willing to fork out some ££ I can recommend someone.

I suspect if I tried to do strip lashes myself I'd look like I was blinking spiders - I'm not very adept at that kind of thing

Those getting lash extensions what is the approximate cost? I will be paying scruffy midlands town prices rather than London prices!

I pay £30/£35 for my lash infills. You start with a full set (can’t remember how much, maybe £50) which takes about 1.5 hours, then go back every 2/3 weeks for infills. Not cheap, but I regularly get comments on my lashes. I go for “classic”, not the voluminous Russians.

Oh, and I’m in the north. Not London. But not a cheap bit of the north!
