Hair Straighteners

Looking to invest in new hair straighteners as my GHDs are giving up the ghost.

I've always been loyal to GHDs, but I'm having my head turned by cloud 9 and Dyson.

I have curly hair that always manages to annoyingly get a kink in it.

Which pair is your favourite?

I just brought Cloud 9 and I’m very impressed with the new ones.

Previously I had original ghds which were amazing and the best I’d owned. When they broke (after over a decade) I replaced with new ghds which weren’t as good. I sold them and got cloud 9 which were excellent and when they broke, probably after 8 years, they are the pair I just replaced with my new cloud 9s.

I also have portable ghds which are great.

I'm sure I saw somewhere that GHD have an offer that you can exchange your old GHDs and get money off their new ones. Watched a video of someone doing one side of their head with the old one and the other with the new ones and there was quite a difference.

I have cloud 9 and it's good but if you straighten a lot I'd suggest Dyson airstrait. So much less damaging and works really well.

I’ve had GHDs, Cloud 9 and now on Dyson AirStrait. The old GHDs were good but then not so. Cloud 9 I believe are made by the original GHD people and they are better as a result. Neither get close to AirStrait for me though. Would never go with anything else.

I love my L'Oreal Steampod. I have extremely frizzy hair (not curly or wavy, just pure frizz) that needs daily straightening and I have previously frazzled it with GHDs. The Steampod doesn't seem to cause any damage at all.

I've also used the steampod for years and love it although it's a bit cumbersome. I have naturally very curly hair and the steampod straightens it no problem. I only usually straighten my hair at the weekend so not every day but it is in very good condition and the steampod leaves it nice and shiny. GHDs used to frazzle my hair a bit as well.
