Outfits for school support worker

Hi, I start a new role as a lab tech in a grammar school soon. My current go-to at work is jeans, vest top, jumper/hoody/fleece and trainers. I work in a lab, so no dress code other than legs covered in case of chemical spills.
Can anyone please suggest outfits more appropriate for a grammar school setting?

I would say avoid jeans/denim, but try some other comfortable trousers like chinos, Lucy & Yak Addisons or Alexa, etc; and wear with a nice top- fancy t shirt style is probably ok- and something warm like a nice jumper or cardi. Comfortable leather shoes, not trainers. Doesn’t have to be particularly smart, especially as you’ll have a lab coat on most of the time.

Having said all that, I wouldn’t spend a lot on new clothes until you’ve been there a week or so, because it might be more like what you already wear than you expect!

Good luck and congrats on the new job.

Thank you. I'm really looking forward to it!
I think I'm just going to have to face facts and dress like an adult, not 16yo me 😂
