Hello all,
40 year old mum here, just been invited to a wedding, first one in a few years. Proper weekend away with hubby.
Haven't clue what the current fashion is for weddings!
Details are: summer wedding, in Ireland
I'm 12/14 (but more 12) 5ft 8 dark curly hair, neutral skin tone, glasses wearer (grey/green eyes) . Not sure what colours suit me, although I like red, navy, and pink I always feel I go for these colours and being a summer wedding might be nice to try something softer?
I don't want anything super short or booby (if you know what I mean 😂) dress code is "dress to impress" ? Help!!

Something like this? Slightly elevated version of a fashionable shape. Most of the dresses on this site are quieter in colour - have a look:

Hill House Home red dress

If you have a bigger budget then anything from Alemais would be lovely. This is just an example:

Alemais pink dress

If you’d rather spend less, this is quite impressive for the price - and obviously the site has other dresses:

Sister Jane stripes

How smart are Irish weddings currently, I love those dresses but they are more beach bar than wedding vibes

I've asked for this for my birthday . It comes in other colours including a pretty green and white print

Those dresses aren't "beach vibes".

Yeah so ladies usually tend to go quite glam for Irish weddings, usually fascinators, matching shoes and handbag, full tan, makeup and hair styled. Now I won't be that well groomed now but so want to look like I belong there 😂

Thank you for taking time to have a look at some suggestions, I'm not sure they're quite enough for this wedding but maybe on the right person with the right accessories 🤔

I’ve never heard of her-but the dresses are beautiful!

Based on your description of yourself you're probably a winter colour palette, so those colours you picked for yourself are bang on. Stick with a jewel tone.

Ro & Zo have some lovely ones at the moment!
