So if bootcut jeans are back......

Does that mean I can wear my old - or let's call them vintage - Victoria Beckham rock and republic jeans? I think they are from around 2005 or so? I've been reading about bootcuts being back so I just dug them out, tried them on (yay they still fit!) and to be honest I think they look pretty decent. Feel a bit weird as I haven't gone much beyond slim for absolutely years but I'll give it a go if you tell me I'll be the height of fashion Smile

Yeh I think so!

Yes defo

Why not wear something that suits your body shape or even something YOU actually like rather than following the herd ? It's a lot cheaper, better for the environment and actually better for your own self esteem.😂

cashmerecardigans · 11/03/2025 20:09

Well they do definitely suit me, I've got slim legs so they work well, even though I'm not used to loads of fabric flapping around. @classicslove I'd have thought I'm doing my bit for the environment by wearing jeans that are 20 years old!

OP is wearing her own jeans from 2005. Whats more cheaper and better for environment?? I wish I could have kept all of my bootcut jeans from high school which was also around 2006 😂

Yes they are back but the waist is higher. They were sooo low cut back in the early 2000s.

I loved my muffin top! 😁

cashmerecardigans · 11/03/2025 20:17

They are lower than I'm used to, but not too horrendous. Does mean a bit of digging to find longer tops though.

I'm feeling vindicated as I have so nearly chucked them out so many times!

For me they never left. I still wear my Kate moss boot flare jeans from 2004

Oh dear op didn't you know we're all far too high minded on Style and Beauty to be interested in fashion and yada yada yada?

Just kidding. I'm wearing Gap Long n' Leans again, enjoy the VBs.

BridgetRandomfuck · 11/03/2025 21:50

I’ve found the same when I dug out my old boot cuts from the 00s - they’re so low rise I feel a bit like a Britney tribute act. I think longer tops are the solution, or embrace the midriff like da kids, except I’m 46 and no one wants to see that…

cashmerecardigans · 11/03/2025 21:53

@BridgetRandomfuck there is no chance I'll be showing any midriff. Not only do I need longer tops but also smaller pants, as I've clearly moved on from the skimpier ones I wore back in the day Smile
