Subtle permanent eye make-up

Has anyone had permanent eye makeup - not so much a solid line like liquid liner but more a smudge to make eyes look better without makeup! Declining eyes & wobbly hands mean I'm wearing less and less makeup but feeling really self conscious and HATE the way I look without anything on my eyes. Hoping this perhaps along with some subtle false lashes and I might feel more myself again & not wince when I catch sight of myself. Thankfully I have OK brows so nothing more to be done there.

Anyone?

Yes!
I had a lashline enhancement last summer.
Best thing I've ever had done.

GrimDamnFanjo · 11/03/2025 11:08

The woman who did mine also does a smudged version and lots of different styles.
I'm very short sighted so just getting up and not having to mess about trying to get my eyeliner straight makes so much difference!

Yes, for some reason my body temp is hot and eyeliner melts within minutes of going on.

I had a subtle line at first and when I had it topped up I had it bolder. I have it refreshed every few years - love it. I don't have black black, I have a sort of liquorice colour.

GrimDamnFanjo · 11/03/2025 17:31

@lechatnoir I'm seriously considering adding the eyeliner to my lashline. I suppose I'm just a bit concerned about keeping doing the touch ups long term in. Are it really faded on my lids.

Moonflower12 · 11/03/2025 20:34

I too have hot eyes and all eyeliners end up everywhere.

Approximately how much does it cost?

EffinMagicFairy · 11/03/2025 20:41

Yes I’ve just had a lash line enhancement, makes my eyelashes look a lot fuller, I keep those dyed and don’t bother with mascara every day, my eyelashes are in much better condition.

Tinseltuttifruitti · 11/03/2025 20:42

I would love this but the before and after pictures I've seen seem harsh, would anyone be willing to share their results?

EffinMagicFairy · 11/03/2025 20:43

Mine was £250 but I got a discount as had my eyebrows done previously. I researched my PMU artist, followed her instagram of loads of before and afters before I plucked up the courage.

Just wanted to say that I wouldn’t try this without getting a test tattoo somewhere else on my body first. People sometimes end up allergic to their tattoos and imagine having that reaction around your eyes.

kissmyfatass · 11/03/2025 20:51

I've had top and bottom liner done. It's great. I just thicken it if I'm going out out but it's great for everyday and just out
Not too painful either.

Moonflower12 · 11/03/2025 20:57

@EffinMagicFairy

Thank you for the advice. That was about how much I was thinking. I'll look into it.

lechatnoir · 11/03/2025 22:14

Wow didn't expect so many positive responses. I'm going to look online for local recommendations and get saving. I'm quite excited not to scare myself in the morning when I look in the mirror.

You have to be patch tested.

I paid £200.
It was cheaper than the standard eyeliner though.
I'd say between £200-400 would be about right outside London/south east.

EspanaPorfavor · 16/03/2025 15:42

I had it done in the summer, it’s much subtler than it looks here (zoomed in) and I am happy with it. Nobody has noticed!

That looks great @EspanaPorfavor - even with better eye sight I could never do eyeliner that well!

I don't suppose anyone know a MUA who does this in the SE? I don't know anyone local that has had this done to ask and would prefer to have a recommendation first.

I’ve had an eyelash enhancement done 3 years ago and a year later top and bottom eyeliner. Makes my mornings so much easier! I’m very happy with it and my only regret is that I didn’t have it done sooner 😊. I would definitely go for it.

lechatnoir · 28/03/2025 10:36

@Flowergirl076interesting you mention lash enhancement as my research has led me to deciding this is what I actually want rather than eyeliner. Glad it worked well for you just need to find someone reputable

Flowergirl076 · 28/03/2025 12:48

Yes, a lash enhancement is basically just adding dots in between your lashes which makes them look fuller. You can always go for a full eyeliner later if you like.

Stillplodding · 28/03/2025 12:55

I’m having this done next month!

Bit nervous tbh!

I’m going back to an incredible artist who has micro bladed my eyebrows 5 years ago (I go for top ups every 18/24m).

At my last top up we discussed it and she showed me how it would look (in normal pencil). I have never been able to achieve such a close fine line, ever!

She’s based in the Home Counties but I think she has an occasional clinic in London. Feel free to pm me if you like.

iamnotalemon · 28/03/2025 13:18

I had it done too (as well as my eyebrows) and absolutely love it - best money I’ve ever spent and I’m quite frugal!
