I'm going to a wedding in the summer and have found this dress on vinted, I absolutely love it but also think it could be a wedding no no.
Does it look like I'm trying to be the bride??
Do you think it looks suitable for a wedding or should I try something else
It is a soft yellow so not cream

Is this suitable for wedding guest ?

It's a beautiful dress, I don't see why it would be unsuitable, unless the bride is wearing similar or the bridal party. I've never felt the need to check if something is suitable or not. Bet I've made a lot of faux pas.!

It looks lovely. If the bride hasn't sent out guidance, go ahead.

Ellie1015 · 11/03/2025 09:02

Too bridal for me. I wouldn't risk it.

Purplecatshopaholic · 11/03/2025 09:18

Why on earth would that be unsuitable? Honestly, this place gets weirder. It’s a lovely dress op, will look great for a wedding - dress it up with jewellery, great bag, etc.

I think it's perfect for a summer wedding. Unless the bridesmaids are in pale yellow too, I don't see any problem at all.

Being the same colour as the bridesmaids is always a risk, unless you can ask the bride or the stationary gives it away!

Ellie1015 · 11/03/2025 09:23

It is floor legnth, lacey type material and a pale colour. All characteristics of wedding dresses.

I wouldn't care if someone wore that dress to my wedding. I would err on side of caution and not wear it to someone else's though.

I don't know if it is the length that attracts you, but lose the bottom tier and it will be fine.

PeacheyPeach · 11/03/2025 13:10

Hi all x thank you for the feedback xx I'.was thinking about having some of the length cut maybe make it more of a midi length instead of it being so long.
Maybe with brighter accessories it might make it feel more of a guest dress xx

Bridesmaid …

Mwydryn · 11/03/2025 14:23

It looks very bridal to me.

ApolloandDaphne · 11/03/2025 15:25

It looks like a dress I had back in the 70's when I was around age 12! I'm not really a fan of it for an adult.
