Is this too simple for casual(ish) summer wedding?

this

I am relatively large lady and finding it hard to get something nice for my sisters wedding.

Was thinking this with linen trousers and sparkly sandals - cant do heels!?

Is it too boring and simple thoough for a wedding? I do like it and would be able to wear it again as well!

i think its lovely. if you're worried about being too casual then it's probably worth buying a sparkly bag, some nice earrings etc. from somewhere like accessorize as well as the sparkly sandals to jazz it up a bit.

MeMySonAndI · 12/05/2008 16:46

It is not boring although it seems to me a bit too much on the casual side even for a casual wedding. Now, if the fabric is something special it may do.

Was thinking Icould wear this over for the evening when its cooler

this

I know its not very exciting or colourful but I want to look as unnoticeable as possible without looking too crap!

linen trousers will crease and look terrible

the cardigan is so dull you need to have something less frumpy

oregonianabroad · 12/05/2008 16:48

I like it.
IMO, you can get away with anything clothes-wise as long as the shoes, handbag & accessories are all fab. If you wear really dressy shoes and a sparkly handbag, I think you could pull it off.

but a lovely simple dress might be better for a wedding.

I'm no expert but I would say look for something in a different colour - something a bit brighter or more dramatic. But I totally appreciate that feeling comfortable is more important!

tullytwo · 12/05/2008 16:49

Thats what I was thinking HQ - that I could dress it up with accessories etc so it would look better.

I know its a bit casual but I am really stuck and wedding is only a few weeks away and I have to order everything online!

Dont do dresses really - havent worn one in years and they are hard to come by in my size.

Thanks for feedback so far.

I am wearing that exact cardi right now at work!!!!!!!

must admit, it is not particularly flattering though as it drapes around my portly belly. (I am size 16-18ish)

Doesn't look very dressy either, but I do really like it.

nailpolish · 12/05/2008 16:50

oregonianabroad · 12/05/2008 16:50

tullytwo · 12/05/2008 16:53

Nailpolish you made me laugh - its just so bloody hard to find anything for my size!

Was hoping to go for simple, elegantish and discreet whilst looking like a baby elephant - its very hard to do!

Oh well will keep scouring then!

nailpolish · 12/05/2008 16:55

could be worn after wedding too

wear with red heels and bag

tullytwo · 12/05/2008 16:57

I dont mind telling you my size no - you dont know me so its all ok!

I vary from 24/26 top and 26/28 on bottom - you will have your work cut out for you on this one!

I used to be a size 12/14 @ 10years ago pre-kids but am hoping to get back there some day.

dont worry if you cant find anything as I know its hard for plus sizes.

2nd one v nice.

I'd say silver sandals or wedgies for comfort rather than red heels.

nailpolish · 12/05/2008 16:58

the black dress is great! do you like it?

MascaraOHara · 12/05/2008 16:58
