Is this too simple for casual(ish) summer wedding?

this

I am relatively large lady and finding it hard to get something nice for my sisters wedding.

Was thinking this with linen trousers and sparkly sandals - cant do heels!?

Is it too boring and simple thoough for a wedding? I do like it and would be able to wear it again as well!

what about your colouring? I'd get some blonde highlights done, bit of fake tan, that black dress (nailpolish's 2nd choice, not too sure about the first), lots of silver-y accessories and glam!!

oregonianabroad · 12/05/2008 17:00

no on the skirt.

are you short or tall?

tullytwo · 12/05/2008 17:00

excitedly waiting for them to load - computer is very slow!

evans i like the spot short sleeve one

Mercy · 12/05/2008 17:01

probably too loud

I think Simplybe looks good for larger sizes

MascaraOHara · 12/05/2008 17:02

these would look nice with a cream-y top and chunky jewelery

oregonianabroad · 12/05/2008 17:02

This could work w/linen trousers -- what colour are they?

nailpolish · 12/05/2008 17:02

linen trousers crease terribly tho

i do like the blue oens mind you

oregonianabroad · 12/05/2008 17:03

yes, those trousers and my top!

MascaraOHara · 12/05/2008 17:03

nice cardy for over a vest or dress?

oregonianabroad · 12/05/2008 17:04

don't worry about the creases.

you can spray some starch on them when you iron 'em

tullytwo · 12/05/2008 17:04

I am short - @5'3/5'4

Love the second one too NP - you are good!

I am so worried about exposing myself too much though - my multitude of wobbly bits!

Would it be alright with flats as my back cant handle heels yet (since preggers with dd - lots of pelvic probs)

I brown haired- jaw length, greey/brown eyes (with glasses) and quite sallow skinned.

What fake tan is good for my legs - my calves havent seen daylight in years!

blue and black dont go

oregonianabroad · 12/05/2008 17:05

that cardi, plain white vest from tesco, and the trousers. perfect.

MascaraOHara · 12/05/2008 17:05

I would go for a stone, cream, whote or even a light graey with pale blue

nailpolish · 12/05/2008 17:06

yes i think flat shoes would be fine

esp for casual summer wedding

fake bke is good fake tan or st tropez bronzing mist

or treat yourself and get a salon tan

honestly, you will feel fab with salon tan - will look good with black dress and gold shoes?

nailpolish · 12/05/2008 17:06

cardi too mumsy

oregonianabroad · 12/05/2008 17:08

pale blue and black do.

at least in my book.

use some dove or johnson summer sun cream -- gradual tan.

No7 has a nice one for your face that's a moisturiser too.

def get the blonde highlights then, and wear contact lenses and a just a bit of sparkly silver or goldeny eyeshadow, bit of lippy won't go amiss either.

throw your shoulders back and enjoy!

nailpolish · 12/05/2008 17:08

have to goa nd make tea

good luck!

(get the black dress)

oregonianabroad · 12/05/2008 17:10

have to go and collect kids, hope you enjoy the wedding, and remember: life is too short to be worrying about what other people think.

tullytwo · 12/05/2008 17:13

Thankyou all so much - feel a bit more inspired for sure!

Have them all loaded to show dp when he gets home from work - poor man!

I really mean it - thankyou

tullytwo,
this is really nice, or I like the first tunic on yeahbut's link (but beware upper arm exposure, def fake tan needed).

how are you getting on?

BecauseImWorthIt · 13/05/2008 08:46

tullytwo - please don't take this the wrong way - but it sounds as if your size is really affecting your self esteem if you don't want to be noticed at all.

If there are still a few weeks before the wedding, why don't you start that diet now - rather than talking more vaguely about getting there some day?

Obviously you're not going to get to a size 10 by the wedding (!), but you will have started and that will make you feel better about yourself.

nailpolish · 13/05/2008 08:49

i want to stress the salon spray tan - it will make you feel a million dollars

take a deep breath and do it!
