Asda unbelievable

So I found myself in Asda today, and I happened to go in when a lot of the fashion stock was being marked down to unbelievably cheap prices. So unbelievable that the lady on the check out refused to believe that the stock could be that cheap. She basically accused me of label fiddeling and got a colleague to go and check everything in my trolley, about 12 items.
While her colleague was away she insisted that she would have been informed if things were going to be marked down so much, and when her colleague returned and confirmed the clothes were infact the right price, she continued to huff and puff and didn't even apologise for her manner. Some of the bargains included:
A Jacket full price £38 reduced to £2
Jumpers full price £30 reduced to £3
Dresses for £1.50
Kids clothes £0.75
Not too sure if supermarket staff are usually so quick to accuse people of things, but it made for an uncomfortable experience, it kind of took the edge off the thrill of finding the bargains.

I once found a pair of sandals in Tesco but wasn’t sure of the price. The assistant checked and double checked with her colleague and they were 4p. We all looked at one another in surprise but I wasn’t accused of tampering.

The woman sounds an arrogant idiot, but well done you for finding such great bargains!

Whilst in-store you should have asked to speak to duty manager and explain that you didn't appreciate the inference that you were indulging in fraud by said staff member.
I'm ex retail and I wouldn't have put up with that.

I avoid Asda because of poor customer service on a few occasions years ago. The staff behaved like they were doing me a favour rather than being paid to support customer queries. I thought it was a one-off, but when it happened again I decided to avoid the place. It doesn't sound like it's improved!

Not every Asda will be like this.Im a regular Asda shopper and the checkout person I go to is brilliant so helpful and chatty and knows what they're doing.

I worked for them many moons ago and you’d be amazed what customers were up to then!!
with COL crisis I can imagine it’s much worse…
she should have remained professional though!
