If you are slim but have saggy upper arms what tops do you wear in summer?

Am a size 10 after weightloss but I have bingo wings

I don't think I could be bold enough to wear vest tops this summer.

Have not been slim in summer for over a decade, so really need some items.

Wouldn't it be easier to buy some wrist weights and tone up your biceps? Or do ten press ups every day. Soon you'll have lovely toned arms and you can wear whatever you like.

Im just owning my saggy arms. I dont like being hot and enjoy the feel of the sun on my skin so just embracing the vest / short sleeved tops. Plus some strapless dresses. I am assuming no one other than me cares about my arms

I've lost 120lbs, my excess skin is beyond toning.

I'd have to have arms like Arnold Schwarzenegger to fill out the skin 🤣

Lol, you cant 'tone up' skin that is hanging there like curtains, it doesnt work like that

OP Ive lost 140lbs and have massive droopy wings. I wear long sleeve light cotton blouses but then Ive never like the sun on my skin.

I could have an operation but I dont have the money and read that an arm lift is one of the most complicated plastic surgeries there is.

Depending on how much weight shes lost 'toning' may not be possible if there's excessive loose skin. Still useful to do resistance training for health reasons but there may be a limit to how much impact can be made

I've been weight training for the last year with progressive overload and still dont have lovely toned arms due to saggy skin

I wear what I describe as my 'Yeah, I know they're crepey but I don't give a ....' sleeveless tops. It looks better when my arms are a bit tanned.

I choose not to worry about it TBH. Lost over 100Ibs and I def have plenty of saggy bits, even though I exercise plenty and am a size 8/10 now.
I also have really horrendous, bulbous varicose veins so keep my legs covered in the summer (if I worried about my arms as well I might as well wear a burka!).
Honestly I dont think bingo wings are that noticeable unless you are standing there flapping your arms around.
Besides I have nicely toned upper chest and shoulders so vest tops look good.
Try and concentrate on the good bits OP rather then obsess over the 'flaws'.😉

I wouldn't say I worry about it but I'd rather feel comfortable in my clothes than uncomfortable.

It's your triceps you need to tone, and you'll feel better for it, but a sheer or lacy top could be more comfortable over the vest/camisoole.

LaPalmaLlama · 09/03/2025 19:48

I tend to wear light loose blouses with elasticated cuffs which I can push up to my elbows. I find them cooler and no risk of sweat patches.

Walkley18 · 09/03/2025 19:50

Same situation. I have bought light tops with floaty sleeves, lace tops with half sleeves and a lightweight lacy cardy bolero shrug. Most from charity shops as nothing out there for me at mo.

TheOGCCL · 09/03/2025 19:51

Not a fan of my upper arms, or shoulders, so I wear loose shirts over a top or vest. They are pretty cool and also quite a fashionable look (oversized). But I have the advantage (which is not an advantage most of the year in the UK) of running very cold.

I burn easily and don’t have nice arms, I see there are a few broderie anglaise shirts around at the moment, which I might investigate for keeping cool. If they’re not all frilly or anything.
