I was thinking midi dress with a waist- size 10 autumn colours not sure if need jacket would prefer not budget up to £200 for dress . All suggestions gratefully accepted thank you

Don't panic. I helped my sister (MOB) last year. I think it's really helpful to decide first what kind of look you want. Traditional or something a bit more modern, really comes down to you as a person.

The traditional stuff like (link) didn't really work for her, but some really nice outfits.

I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think? https://www.johnlewis.com/gina-bacconi-melissa-stretch-crepe-dress-jacket/p111848654?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&sshare=jlappioss_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=

What she went for in the end was a long sleeve maxi dress with a hat and she looked stunning, a bit like the below.

Lastly if you have a John Lewis you can good in for a free personal styling session, they are super helpful.

Definitely book in. What is your style Midi length? Plain or pattern? Colours?

MrsJoanDanvers · 08/03/2025 10:48

What kind of style do you like? Fashionable or traditional? Are you tall? Do you prefer natural fabrics or not fussed? Do you like pattern or florals or plain colours?

I’ve found this dress-reduced to £85 and a nice green with lots of warmth.

Help!!!

Thank you for your help-I like fairly plain things prefer natural fabrics but not a deal breaker - I’m 5’6 nothing too flouncy - don’t mind small prints but not large flowers
will avoid green as bridesmaids are green - u likes some of the Aspiga dresses but the colours don’t work for me as too pastel
please keep suggesting !
