Do you think this stain removable?!

I just ordered a dress from vinted that is perfect but it's arrived with a stain on the front, seller is being lovely and saying I can send it back and she's not sure what it is but I'm in a mind that if it could be saved I'd like to keep it as can't find it anywhere else!
What do we think, worth a trip to dry cleaners/hand wash cycle or is it not worth it?

What is the material?

cramptramp · 05/03/2025 14:03

And what is the stain?

Flopsy145 · 05/03/2025 14:09

@cramptramp it's a polyester which I've just realised, feels like satin. No idea what stain is and seller didn't notice.

Surgical spirit is fantastic for stains, dab it on with a cotton wool pad. I'd try that first f you really like the dress and want to keep it

If it's polyester and washable, I've always found fairy liquid really good for stains. Pour it on neat, leave for a few hours, then put in the washing machine.

Thank you will try this! Do you pour on and leave or rub in?
If that doesn't work I'll give surgical spirit a try @asparagusffern 👍🏻 thank you!

@Flopsy145 I just pour it on and rub it in lightly.

LynetteScavo · 05/03/2025 21:45

Is also rub on washing up liquid, then wash as usual.

Let us know if it comes out OP

Stripytablecloth · 06/03/2025 08:59

Must be me but I can’t see a stain! I can just see shadows of where the fabric isn’t lying flat

DancingNotDrowning · 06/03/2025 09:10

if you haven’t already I’d run it through the machine on a 40°c wash and reassess.

chances are it will come out - it’s the sort of mark you get from deodorant or body lotion when you’ve pulled a dress on, should come out easily enough

Stripytablecloth · 06/03/2025 17:02

im starting to doubt my eyesight! Can someone point out the stain for me please as I can’t see anything!!

Flopsy145 · 06/03/2025 18:53

Thank you all! I'm happy to say that the fairy liquid followed by wash trick WORKED! ❤️ Thank you @cramptramp for that suggestion.
I left it on for about ten mins then put in a hand wash low spin at 30 degrees! Thank you guys!

It's the vertical slightly darker lines, wasn't super noticeable but right in the middle of my chest
