Cleanser - skincare help

Have been using a cream cleanser for the last 2 weeks and it’s brought me out in spots. I’ve never had a skincare routine before (did use an oil cleanser for a while but my skin never felt clean) and just used soap and a flannel before. Thought better get a decent skincare routine and now doubting the cleanser.

I double cleanse with the same product and then a few times a week follow up with toner and hydration serum. Is this because it’s drawing the dirt out or just that my skin doesn’t agree with it? Haven’t had this many since I was a teenager. Not sure whether to ride it out a few more weeks and see if it gets better or just go back to using soap.

Utterly clueless. Any help would be welcome! Thanks

I only double cleanse in the evening if I've been wearing make-up that day (which doesn't happen very often).

Adjust for your own skin type. When I was younger and had oilier skin I needed a wash off gel/foam cleanser in the morning, a serum specifically for oily skin and a light moisturiser. Then I would use a cream cleanser in the evening. I have always used a toner morning and night.

As I've got older I switched to cream cleanser, kept the toner in, richer cream at night.

If I change products I only change one thing at a time and my skin often needs time to adjust. You don't say what type of skin you have or if you wear mask-up daily. I'd reduce to single cleanse, use toner each time, and moisturise.

But, if a product is really not working for me then I will ditch it!

Thank you. I wear make up probably 5 days out of the week and will only double cleanse on these days.

I’d say I have combination skin.

The products I’ve been using are the Tropic cream cleanser, morning mist toner and skin feast moisturiser. Don’t @ me, didn’t realise they were a MLM until after I’d bought the products off their website. Liked the idea of them as clean ingredients and natural. Maybe the skin feast moisturiser is too heavy?

any recommendations on good products I could try?

thanks

Double cleansing if possible. Here is my routine that I follow:
Morning:
Using micellar water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
Garnier spf
Evening:
Cerave moisturizer,
Started with Tretinoin (0.025) and moved to (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel
