Hi all,

going out for dinner somewhere smart but causal so perhaps a dress or skirt and top but nothing too much. I find it so hard to strike a balance between smart enough for dinner but not too formal. I live in my leggings and tops. I am a size 10. Any tips of where too look? I like whistles; Sézane etc anywhere similar that I don’t know about? Or even suggestions of what to buy would be greatly appreciated.

thank you xx

Depends …

Date night with your partner or someone you wish to seduce? Or a relaxed evening amongst friends? The first might call for something a little more intentional; the second, probably just your current favourite clothes.

I don’t think it need necessarily be a dress. Some sort of co-ord set would probably be my first choice, now that the weather doesn’t require a velvet trouser suit as default going out wear.

If it had to be a dress, then some sort of elevated t shirt style, in silk, with wide sleeves. Structured, not droopy or floaty.

It’s a meal out with a couple of other couples, so not a date night. Love the ideas @BeetledBrow I am petite though so the second one wouldn’t work on me.

don’t think jeans and a nice top would work?

Is that what all the women in your group wear - Every Time?

Break out of that cage, @Helpisneeded100! Grab your chance for freedom!

I think I'd go for a denim midi dress or tailored shorts look. Both are everywhere and very spring which feels nice finally! Probably the tailored shorts and jacket as then I could wear separately all year too

Zara
&otherstories
Mint velvet

Are a few places I'd look.
