Recently my hair has started to thin, my nails split and after a week of a hard core cold, my face is extremely dry.

What's the best collagen supplements people are using? Biotin doesn't seem to be helping

Unfortunately the evidence isn't great regarding collagen supplements.

IncessantNameChanger · 02/03/2025 20:23

What is good for hair and nails?

Up your protein intake, try eating your collagen via bone broth etc, and use a supplement that includes biotin, iron, and vitamin c - Perfectil's a good one but even a normal one will do.

I've started the Ancient and Brave collagen power after a friend recommended it (and she is looking great.)

Ladyymuck · 03/03/2025 00:15

I started taking Ancient and Brave but the switched to Kollo which has more (10000mg) collagen and some vitamins in the sachet.

I use feel, it's a watermelon flavoured powder. I add it to my clear protein shake!

Thanks everyone. It's always hard choosing when there is so much choice out there

Do they taste bad? Like fish?

Nat6999 · 04/03/2025 23:33

I use Nutrition Geeks Collagen supplement, completely tasteless, I mix it in my porridge or in a smoothie.

I use ancient and brave- can't taste it in my coffee and it really has helped

Make sure you get the spoon too to help you measure it out

mrspk · 07/03/2025 15:27

I use Will powders Swiss bovine. No fishy aftertaste and my joints are thanking me

mumzof4x · 07/03/2025 23:08

I started the Applied Nitrition Marine Colllagen powder about 18 months ago
Im 54 and my GP asked me if I had hair extensions!
Honestly my hair is so thick it's long and shiny and my nails are better than they were two decades ago .
I mix it into my coffee and it's naturally high in protein

@Nat6999 how long have you been using vg collagen? What changes have you seen if any?

cosietea · 21/03/2025 19:38

Have started Ancient & Brave true collagen ( bovine powder) today.

Put 10ml in my coffee which didn’t taste or smell of anything.

I have started another thread in chat to update on any benefits I see, I would like to give it a decent amount of time to work so will see where I am in 6 months

Anyone care to share what their exact improvements were using this? And how long that took?
