Sock recommendations for bigger feet

I need new socks, it is a hit and miss affair! I am a size 7 1/2 or 8 and I have pretty thick calves. I like something that isn’t all black or grey so I can separate my socks from everyone else’s, and I don’t mind a bit of colour.

Not too tight so they leave a mega line, but tight enough not to disappear into a trainer. Long enough not to leave a gap when I sit down.

So far I have had success with White Stuff as being pretty close, but they can be a bit twee. Sometimes John Lewis turn up a decent set. H&M not quite long or tight enough.

Any decent men’s outfitters!

Community Clothing socks are unisex and cost almost nothing.

The Cambridge Sock Company - wonderful variety of knits.

Drakes are pure luxury men’s socks. The prettiest colours you’ve ever seen.

Just buy mens socks - you get loads of patterns/colours these days. Better quality in my experience!

I find men’s socks are too tight in the calves plus, having been size nine since age 11, I want to wear stuff designed for women, not men. Men’s legs are shaped differently. My daughter bought me some from Long Tall Sally which were great for larger calves.

Try diabetic socks, they are designed to have plenty of room.

If you like bamboo these are fabulous

I'm an 8 with very chunky calf & over sensitive tendons which go bonkers with normal sock cuffs.
