Shoes to go with a denim shirt dress

Not sure I’m cool enough to rock a silver pair of Chelsea boots like the photo!
I’m 5ft2 but not great with heels so the dress is quite long on me! For dressing up… for dressing down?
And how would you layer this? The puffy sleeves make it tricky!

Cowboy boots for the casual look, but it might be a bit costumey. Loafers might work for a slightly smarter look but light denim is a fairly casual look anyway. Trainers will work too but you might feel that's overdone. Wear silver boots if you like with the dress, there's no law against it!
