Best workout leggings

I'm on the hunt for some squat proof gym leggings that don't roll down. I've lost quite a lot of weight and have a flabby tummy which I don't think helps. Ones with a draw string inside would be great and has to have a phone pocket. Not the M&S Goodmove, they nearly fit the brief but my husband pointed out they were see through on the butt.

Sweaty Betty Power Gym Leggings are the best. They stay in place and are not see through. Although they are quite expensive Sweaty Betty has good sales quite often.

ChristmasLightsLover · 28/02/2025 21:06

Have a look for the other threads on this. There's some good stuff on here.

I'm in a long term relationship with Sweaty Betty leggings. The power ones. You're usually fine to buy them on Vinted. The elastic and support really is that good.

pandapopadance · 28/02/2025 21:09

Sweaty Betty power or super soft

Newyeargymwanker · 28/02/2025 21:15

Gym shark do some really good lifting leggings.
and sweaty betty
M&S are ok

shrinkingthiswinter · 28/02/2025 21:17

It’s the sweaty Betty power ones.

BuntyCollocks · 28/02/2025 21:17

Genuinely the buttery Primark ones are so good.

NeoName · 28/02/2025 21:40

If you don't want to pay Sweaty Betty prices - the CRZ yoga naked feeling high waist leggings from Amazon are very supportive and virtually indestructible. (Don't seem to lose elasticity or go baggy)

fartfacenotfatface · 28/02/2025 22:33

Sweaty Betty power every time! Size down. I normally wear a 12 but the SB 'small' is perfect on me.

PassMeTheCookies · 28/02/2025 22:35

I swear by Sculpt Activewear. They're incredible. They have an inside tie waist which is a life saver in workouts. They are pricey when at full price, but they often do sales and promo codes, and I think if you sign up you get £20 off your first order.

I'm not ashamed to admit I had 6 pairs of the standard black ones 😂 (and many more in lots of colours).

I usually buy mine in their Black Friday and summer sale deals where they're usually 50% off or leggings at £20.

PrincessofLiechtenstein · 28/02/2025 22:38

Do the sweaty betty power ones have pockets? I have a pair from there which don't and it's very annoying. They are great otherwise though.

Wordau · 28/02/2025 22:54

Controversial but I don't like Sweaty Betty leggings! I really don't like the way the seams are cut and I prefer natural fibres. They're also £90!!

I've got these in three different colours and they are totally squat proof and don't roll down either. I really like the way they hold me in, very supportive. I know some people like a weightless feel but I'm not one of them!

They do have a small pocket in the back, but I think they also do a side pocket version which works really well for a phone

If you join sweaty Betty Insiders it's 25% off at the moment, so the powers are £66. I love powers for exercise/running, and they def have a leg and back pocket.
I have a pair of all day ones which don't, these must be the ones a previous poster has.
Surprised your Good move aren't squat proof though. I'm wearing a pair of their "yoga" ones now, with a kind of Criss cross waistband and they are squat proof for me, so it might depend which from the good move range.

Saurus72 · 01/03/2025 03:07

I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong for the Sweaty Betty insiders week - I’ve signed up and go to the insiders week section to shop for the 25% discount but there’s no code to apply at checkout?

crumpleduppieceofpaper · 01/03/2025 06:02

Lululemon are amazing - MUCH better quality than sweaty Betty who have taken a massive downturn in quality in the last couple of years (changes supplier maybe?) My old Power leggings are great but the new ones aren't nearly as nice. So I have moved to lululemon, but only in the sale or on vinted as it's over £100 for a pair of leggings!

Agree with this. I couldn't see past sweaty betty but when money was tight took a risk on CRZ yoga and they're great. I'd recommend the hugged feeling compression leggings as the closest match to sweaty betty power. I'm now also wearing their maternity leggings and they're great.

Suggest buying from Amazon instead of their website direct because they're difficult to return. I ordered two pairs (one too small and one too long) and rather than accept the return they offered me two additional pairs of choice for no charge. When refused they offered me half my money back and keep the leggings which I eventually accepted. Amazon are far easier until you know what style you're looking for although you might get a better price on the crz website as they do offers for multiple pairs.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 01/03/2025 06:38

Gymshark leggings are fab but they don’t have pockets if that’s a dealbreaker :)

Runingoncaffeine · 01/03/2025 06:44

Another vote for Sweaty Betty Power leggings. Also a big fan of Lululemon.

I'm so glad you posted this link. I've been looking for loose fit leggings in natural fibres and their yoga pants look lovely.
My £4.99 Sports Direct ones from about 15 years ago are looking really thin and I'm sure they will end up splitting while I'm mid-squat soon.😂

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 01/03/2025 07:12

Nike Pro are good but they don't have pockets.

Mishmashs · 01/03/2025 07:15

I really recommend Oysho’s gym wear. I’ve had three pairs of leggings from them and they last and last - for years and I do a very active sport which is hard wearing on leggings.

Titasaducksarse · 01/03/2025 07:18

I'm another sweaty betty power leggings wearer. I get mine from Vinted though...like new for usually £30.
I'm not so keen in the high waist ones though, prefer normal fit but they still come up pretty high.
My friend swears by some off Temu that are Lululemon dupes apparently

GetMyAgentOnThePhone · 01/03/2025 07:21

My SB went baggy on me. Not a fan.

Seconding Czy Yoga

But me ‘secret find’ are Born Nouli on Instagram. Extremely good quality. I do a lot of burpees and have had the same 3 pairs on rotation for over a year - zero markings on the knees. As good as the first day, zero roll down and very good value. With pockets!

VerityUnreasonble · 01/03/2025 08:24

I have a couple of pairs of OVRUNS leggings from amazon, which are super cheap, usually on sale for about £12. High waisted, not at all see through. I wear a size 8ish in most clothes and have some in S and some in XS, they are 25% elastane light compression and they don't move. I think they have some styles with a drawstring too.

DecafDodger · 01/03/2025 08:32

I agree with CRZ Yoga recommendation - I compared them to my original lululemons and see no difference whatsoever, exact copy in both fabric and workmanship.

But my holy grail is Bara Sportswear. Not see through at all, super comfortable and the only leggings I can do a long run in and do not need to adjust or pull up a single time. https://barasportswear.com/en-gb/category/shop/bottoms
