What are the next ones to get these days? I went to the hairdressers and she's made my hair poker straight and glossy but I forgot to ask what she used.

Thanks

Possibly Cloud Nine? A lot of salons use them. They are basically what GHDs used to be, I absolutely loved mine!

Cloud nine or GHD

Thanks I'll check those out. I've not heard of cloud 9 before

I’m sure I read somewhere that the owners of GHD divorced, he kept the name and she kept the technology and made cloud 9. Hence cloud 9 are as good as old GHD and new GHD quality has plummeted. Absolutely no source on this at all!

I hope that's true Grin

I second cloud 9. Mostly because the original ones have temperature setting from 110 degrees so you don't have to fry your hair like other straighteners, and revive mode makes the plates vibrate to further protect againt pulling and helps distribute the heat.

I love mine, much better than GHD and my hair is in much better condition now from switching.

I’ve had my ghds for 22 years and never been let down by them. Not sure what the quality is like with current manufacturing though.

Is there a particular cloud 9 I should get or are they all the same? Argos have them as £159 which doesn't sound too bad

If you want the heat control that goes as low as 110 degrees and revive mode, you need the original version, as the others don't have this feature. It's £179 at Boots, may be cheaper elsewhere though.
