Laura Geller foundation

Hi,

I keep seeing good things about this Laura Geller foundation, has anyone used it? I'm over 40 now and feel like my no7 foundation just doesn't look all that nice anymore but i have a perfect colour match so I've just stuck with it.

I've just been looking at the Laura Geller shades and I really don't want to waste money trying to find the correct shade. Has anyone switched from No7 Callico shade and found a good match to the Laura Geller one?

Too yellow on me. I like the idea of it though. Buy from QVC. If it doesn’t work you can return it

This is really useful, thank you. I did have a look on the Laura geller website but could only find photos that match their shades, nowhere i could input my current foundation in but I'll have another look, I'll also check out qvc too! thanks again

The Findation website is also good for suggesting shade matches if you have a good match already

I use no 7 calico shade and have started using Laura gellar baked foundation on top of it as a powder, it's giving me slightly more coverage and I like the finish .

I found it too orange. The texture was lovely though.

Same! I really liked the texture but mine was too orange too, I think the shade matcher suggested one up from the lightest and I should’ve ignored it and ordered the lighter one.

To be fair they gave me a refund and didn’t want me to return it so I passed it on to a friend.

I’d have tried another shade if they’d have offered an exchange but then I couldn’t be bothered to reorder.

Another one who found it too orange (dull orange). It also felt heavy and too thick to build gradual layers up. I wanted to like it as the adverts look great!
Rather than powder, I prefer tinted moisturiser as think it's better now my skin is drier (late 40s).

So I opened the chat on the website and spoke with someone who recommend the medium shade to match my current no7 calico, however they asked me to upload a selfie to double check so then they recommend the light shade instead, so I've gone with this one. I'm hoping it's not too orangey because they have some great reviews but I'll just return if so.

Tinted moisturiser may be the way to go otherwise, I've found that liquid foundationhad started to look a little cakey despite only putting a little on.

I use it as I hate liquid foundation as it goes into the creases.This is great for my skin.

I use the lightest shade and if I find it too orange I brush white setting powder over my face and that gets rid of the orange.

Yes I had the light but it was still orange. I'm sure it depends on your skins undertones. You might be ok.

I've just ordered this....hoping I've made the right choice!

I use Laura geller baked but the shade range is very limited. I’m calico in the boots number 7 and fair is too dark for me and porcelain is way too white for me but if I mix the 2 together it’s perfect

I tried the powder foundation. Useless. Like drugstore, translucent powder.

I use it and really like it but if your skin is dry, it does highlight that so make sure you moisturise properly first.

I'm Calico in No7 and went for Porcelain which is a decent colour match - my problem was leaving powder trails everywhere I went. I gave DH a hug and left a ghostly imprint of my face on his jacket.

I use this and it's great if you prepare your skin properly and either use primer or let your moisturiser dry properly. It goes a very alarming shade of orange if you don't!

Honestly? JML Mineral Magic.
I've got the LG one and prefer JML.
Although I've got MAC,NARS and Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadows,mascara etc JML is the mineral foundation I used.

I use it and have it in fair. I can't use liquid anymore. I love it.

I wasn't a fan of the foundation, I found it like a like a knock off of bare minerals & settled in my lines.
But I have the essentials pallette too & very much like the LG blusher and highlighter.

I wear calico in no7 and bought light in Laura Gellar, it oxidises and looked like an Oompa Loompa half way though the day. Also thought the actual product was disappointing, certainly doesn't live up to the hype

Hi OP, just wondering if you went ahead and bought it? I keep seeing ads pop up about it and I'm in two minds.

I use this in porcelain. I'm fair and use the brighter one with a more pearl finish.

I've seen no hint of orange at all, I look 'well' with it on.

Agree you need to get a good base first.

This is the last time that I fall for anything online 🙈

My order arrived this morning and I look very orange and it's settled in all my lines so makes me look older.
I used the Laura geller primer too and i bought the brush to go with it also but will try again tomorrow with a bit more face prep, hopefully that helps. Otherwise I'll probably just return.
