Help me style this dress!

Hi all,

I'm attending a close family member's wedding this summer, and the dress code is essentially "wear what you want"—so sequins, metallics, and statement pieces are all fair game.

While I am embracing this freedom, the endless options have left me a bit overwhelmed.

Right now, I have my eye on a Georgia Hardinge dress (link below, hopefully!). However, I have a couple of questions for the S&B hive mind:

• I haven’t found much info online about how her dresses fit. Has anyone bought one of these dresses, and if so, are they true to size. Is there any give around the bust or waist?

• I tend to feel the cold, so I’d love suggestions for an oversized jacket, blazer, or kimono to wear over the dress. I quite like the silver dress/yellow jacket combo on Hardinge's Instagram and could easily replicate it, but I’m open to other ideas.

For reference, I’m 41, 5'5", a size 10, and wear a 28E cup. I’ll be styling my hair in a low bun, and I suit bright colours and acid pastels.
Would also love any accessory suggestions to complete the look.

Thanks in advance.

Oh wow that is one hell of a dress! I would totally lean in to the 70s for completing that outfit so metallic strappy sandals (heels) big ish jewellery and a matching bag. Blow out hair and fab makeup to complete the look!

Thanks all. I've been looking for an excuse to buy it for ages 😂

It’s a great dress - surely needing very little by way of accessories. Maybe some Mary Janes or 70s sandals from

Suzanne Rae?

And I can’t imagine covering it with anything but a very businesslike, very oversized jacket (I’d choose a dark wide pinstripe, but whatever suits you best.) Certainly nothing in the least ‘dressy’, or it would be competing with the frock rather than providing balance.
