Very light waterproof jacket

Hi. I'm hoping for some help please.

I need a very lightweight waterproof jacket to take on holiday to Vietnam.

I have seen a Rohan Aira Jacket but it is £300 so way above my budget.

Does anyone know of something similar under £200?

Go to any camping and outdoor shop. Places like Trepass and Mountain Warehouse are at the lower end of the price bracket. somewhere like ‘Go Outdoors’ has a range of brands. I quite like the Jack Wolfskin and Craghopper brands.

Is there an outlet shopping centre near you that has these shops?

I would recommend a golf jacket. Try Sunderland of Scotland, they specialise in water proof clothing for golf. There is so much money in golf that these firms can develop great clothing. These will be light weight, comfortable, stylish and waterproof. They need to be to walk the course and swing a club for 4 hours or so. These are about £150 and a choice of colours.

Rains jackets are excellent, lightweight and well within budget - la redoite and asos will often sell last season's versions if you want a bargain

How waterproof? Will water resistant do?

If it’s just for the odd tropical shower I’d probably just take a foldaway pack a mac. Look at Decathlon, Regatta, Mountain Warehouse and Mac in a Sac

I'd go for something longer. I've worn this to Vietnam waterproof and lightweight.
