How Much Would You Pay For This?

Going to advertise this jacket but no real idea of how much to put on it. DD16 thinks that it would go for around a tenner on Vinted but I want to get more than that ideally. It’s in good condition as I’ve hardly worn it, although I didn’t use the leather care kit that we bought at the same time. I can’t remember the price new but it wasn’t particularly cheap.

You’d be lucky to get a tenner. It’s not a particularly fashionable style.

festivemouse · 24/02/2025 10:11

Perhaps you could use the leather kit? The photos don't look like particularly good condition if I'm honest, it looks like it needs a good clean + leather balm applying.

Chuchoter · 24/02/2025 10:12

No one would pay more than a couple of pounds for it if you're lucky.

It looks old but not in a stylish vintage way.

isaknowsbest · 24/02/2025 10:18

I would go with e bay and let them bid.

Chewbecca · 24/02/2025 10:19

Looks quite scraggy, you would be lucky to find a buyer at £10, sorry.

Lovelysummerdays · 24/02/2025 10:21

I’d try using some leather balm on it and retaking photos perhaps one zipped up then one from behind. Really though I doubt you’d get more than £20 with that effort so may be better just to chuck on vinted as is for £10.

RainingRoses · 24/02/2025 10:22

Appreciate its leather but the quality doesn’t look great at all. And it’s not vintage in a good way. So £10 sounds right.

bunnybunnybunnybunny · 24/02/2025 10:23

Unless you have amazing pictures of it being worn with a great outfit, you're not going to get much more than £10 if that. It's not a particularly stylish jacket, nor is it vintage or a coveted brand.

The only way you're going to get more, is if someone is looking for that exact jacket in that exact size!. Even then, I can't imagine it selling for much more than £35.

In order to make as much money as possible, list with clear pictures, measurements and as much information as possible. But as other posters have said, you're not going to get a lot of money. Maybe try eBay.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 24/02/2025 10:25

£5-7.50 on Vinted.

miIIicant · 24/02/2025 10:26

I wouldn't pay for it but if you advertise at £30 you are going to have to come down to £10-£15. Why don't you give it to a homeless charity - it will make you feel better.

mrsm43s · 24/02/2025 10:34

I don't really think it's a desirable item, and I'd be surprised if it sold at all tbh.

Price it up at whatever you want, but be prepared to take it to the charity shop if it doesn't sell.

nepobaby · 24/02/2025 10:35

I think you'll do well to get a tenner.

RabbitsRock · 24/02/2025 10:37

Thanks for your honesty everyone

It looks really worn and I wouldn't say it looks in good condition. I think you'd get less than £10 for it

letslaughitoff · 24/02/2025 10:41

I wouldnt pay a £1 for it tbh looks awful.

Mrsttcno1 · 24/02/2025 10:42

I’d say probably closer to £5 to be honest, you couldn’t advertise as in good condition because it isn’t

Moveoverdarlin · 24/02/2025 10:46

I’d be astounded if you got a tenner for that on Vinted. It’s not a desirable brand. It looks like a man’s style. I’d pop that one on the charity shop pile.

Coconutter24 · 24/02/2025 10:47

When you bought it new was it a worn leather look or a shiny leather? It obviously looks worn but I’m unsure at to if that’s the style or not given you say you’ve only worn a few times. I would just put it on at the price you were hoping for and if no interest in a week start reducing it in price until you do get interest. You will soon know if anyone is interested or not

DaffodillyDallyDame · 24/02/2025 10:53

There are currently a huge number of brown suede jackets appearing in every High St collection for Spring. And a few mostly quite fitted leather jackets - but they’re smooth and neat looking. So yours isn’t going to appeal to anyone who wants to look fashionable.

And even for people who want a distressed style - you might be well advised to make some effort with your photos. At the moment it looks pulled straight from your dog’s bed!

Comefromaway · 24/02/2025 11:35

I'm afraid that Lakeland doesn't retain it's value. It's not a coveted brand or a classic style like All Saints or Belstaff or a designer brand.

If you treat it and take very good photos you could put it on for £20 but expect to get £10 perhaps.

MagdaLenor · 24/02/2025 11:37

£5?
I'd just give it to a charity shop.

CountTo10 · 24/02/2025 12:07

Have to agree with all the comments plus unless someone is willing to collect the postage will be probably more than the item.

DaffodillyDallyDame · 26/02/2025 17:41

@RabbitsRock I feel we weren’t terribly encouraging yesterday.

Do you think you could arrange some photos styled like this?

Acne Studios leather

As advised, treat the leather and make it look more desirable. Who knows?
