erborian cc cream, am I doing something wrong?

I've got shade Clair, have put two layers of the cc cream on using fingers and I just look shiny. Nothing is covered, if anything I look redder than usual, but all imperfections still there and skin tone blotchy etc.

Hi OP, sorry not to have any advice to share, but following with interest, because I'm having the exact same experience with Clair shade Erborian cc cream.

I don’t get the hype, especially on here. It turned me orange and no way covered much. The BB cream in the same shade is better but doesn’t have great staying power.

smallsilvercloud · 23/02/2025 10:28

Sounds like you just need something with higher coverage, they do one with a thicker coverage. However I find it doesn't have great staying power and expensive for the ml.

TheOGCCL · 23/02/2025 11:01

It’s not for me either, I also think it leans orange and is too dark.

Trinny’s BFF cream also gets a good write up on here but too expensive for my liking.

Personally I think the Nars tinted moisturiser is hard to beat (often 20% at Boots).

Phunkychicken · 23/02/2025 11:08

Glad it isn't just me then. I've got the Nars and quite like it, love the Trinny BFF de-stress and looks amazing but my skin doesn't and so I have to have several days off after every wear.

Annoyingly I seem to react to mica which is in everything that's for'older' skin

Awful stuff and I bought different shades and all were orangey and sheer.

Chuchoter · 23/02/2025 11:14

You're better off adding a few drops of a moisturiser such as Clinique dramatically different to your favourite foundation to make your own face tint.

Same here. I’ve just started using Jones Road What the Foundation- it’s the same as the discontinued Bobbi Brown tinted balm so I’m thrilled. I tried two different Erborian shades - just didn’t work for me.

Purplecatshopaholic · 23/02/2025 11:23

That’s a shame, I absolutely love it, I guess it depends on your skin. The BB cream has more coverage than the CC, but maybe Erborian just doesn’t suit your skin? I also like the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC cream, it’s a nice one. A friend has been raving about the Hourglass Skin Tint, but I haven’t tried it myself.

AgathaMystery · 23/02/2025 11:25

I am quite pale and use the BB in nude & sore - more nude than dore. I find it to be absolutely brilliant.

BangingOn · 23/02/2025 15:45

I swear by their green corrective CC and find I don’t need anything else when I use it, but I’ve not tried any of their tinted products.

Second NARS.
