Honestly op I always think when I see 4 diamonds set in a square I think it looks cheap. (Which they are clearly not!) I'd spend the money on getting bigger solitaire diamonds or something more decorative generally. But that's my taste. But you did ask!

DancingNotDrowning · 23/02/2025 07:48

Exactly what @droopydafodils said

i really dislike the illusion settings, especially 4 small diamonds designed to look like one bigger one. Go small and dainty or big and bling but don’t fake it.

Im so sorry but I agree with PPs. That setting won't have the sparkle that is the whole point of diamonds.

I'd go for smaller single diamonds every time. Or something like moissanite if you want heft.

upsofloating · 23/02/2025 09:01

I think the eye is drawn to the square frame rather than to the diamonds themselves. For the money I'd do what the previous posters have said. But hope you get something you love, OP, including if it's these ones.

Thank you everyone
I do have some decent sized solitaire earrings already and wear them everyday
Been considering a second piercing so might go with that and carry on looking

I like them. I don't like diamonds unless they set with another stone. I don't like solitaire settings so these are a bit different.

To me they don't look like they are meant to be an illusion. It's obviously 4 diamonds- it's a more interesting setting than a solitaire.

I'm afraid I agree with the pps & i am really not a fan of the 4 diamonds set together to look like one big diamond. I really dislike it in engagement rings too. It does make it look cheap (which clearly they're not)

If you love them that's all that counts though
