Can I lighten eyebrow tint?

Morning vipers. I've self tinted and got carried away reading my book, left on too long and they're really dark. Can I lighten them or do I need to have a fringe cut in or wear a long hat for a few weeks?! 🤣. What a fool I am. Good book though !

You can use facial hair bleach to lighten them, try a short amount of time to do it gradually.

Head and shoulders, a clarifying shampoo or washing up liquid should remove some of the colour. I would avoid bleach as they could go orange due to already having dye on them.

I've tried this and sadly it didn't work.
I guess at least it isn't permanent and they will lighten 😁

You can get hair dye removal for head hair could that work? Check it's safe first though!

Give it two days and they'll be perfect! I wouldn't use a bleach on top and that may turn them orange.

I have done this too many times to mention by guessing the time.

Firstly it tends to fade quicker than head hair because of the oils on facial skin/products people tend to use. So I agree it will probably be fine by Monday.

If it really isn't head and shoulders may help.

Bellaboot · 22/02/2025 10:10

It will be fine in a day or two. Just leave it, it won't be as noticeable to anyone else anyway.

If you have an oil cleanser, a couple of washes with that should lighten them up

womblesmissus · 22/02/2025 10:13

You could try a cotton bud dipped in milk. A hairdresser recommended it to me and I’ve used it when I’ve felt my eyebrows were a bit too dark after tinting.

WonderingWanda · 22/02/2025 10:15

I wouldn't bleach them, they might go brassy. Hot water and fairy liquid, wash them like this multiple times and they will get some of the dye out.

tattoonewbie · 22/02/2025 12:51

Oh great thanks folks. I'll see what they're like Monday as am not going out much this weekend. Trapped nerves in my back and it's all I can do to get comfy 😩

It'll fade in about a week. I use exfoliator to help speed up the process if I overdo mine.
