Is there a name for those little squarish bags with enormous wide luggage straps?

Not square - rectangular. Little brick shaped bags, often in a fairly neutral colour with a wide luggage strap style strap in brighter colours.

They're popular with young teens around here and I'm trying to get one for a gift but I'm not sure of brand or what to search.

Any ideas?

Where I live they are worn solely by 40+ women.
I don't think teens would be seen dead in them!

This. They are middle aged women bag, not young teen.

Alice’s Wonders have a good range, if I’m understanding the style you mean, and sell different colour straps separately. Around here they are worn by older women though, so I might not have the right style in mind.

Ollie and Nic are lovely bags and reasonable prices

College girls near me all seem to have fabric / leather / puffy type crescent shape bags they wear up almost under arm pit. Camera bags insert are worn by women in big puffy coats, often walking a dog.

When I got mine I came to the conclusion that many places were buying the bags and straps wholesale and putting them together themselves, with some possibly putting their own branding on.

Nothing wrong with that, but don't assume that one that appears to be from a naice independent 'Clara's Lovely Things' boutique is any better quality than one from Amazon at a third of the price. It could well be exactly the same.

Teen and tween daughters here and they flat out refuse to use a bag, if they did it would not be one like their mum's!
Oliver Bonas have some cheaper ones OP if you definitely decide to get one!

Funny you should mention that, I've not seen them at all in my town in the Midlands, but I'm on the south coast at the moment and I've noticed loads of women with them today, but not young women!
